We got to take our daughter to see the exhibition in the United States. It was well done and everyone was quiet and reverent as they looked and read each scroll or piece of it. My daughter was mesmerized. She was fifteen and died a year later in a car accident.

@@deebee5045 - The caves are right on the shores of the dead sea which literally millions of people have visited in those 2000 years. The caves are also surrounded by well know and studied archaeological sites that have been studied for more than 100 years by Western scholars. So yes, it is strange that no one thought to look inside the caves in all that time. Even someone trying to get out of the warm sun or cold of the night.

I have lived at Qumran (Kalya) for a couple months in 1990 & bought the 1991 book of Dead Sea Scrolls translated/ interpreted when it came out in Jerusalem before it was recalled for publishing something they later did not want released to the public, and this is the first time I heard about skeletons of the community existing in storage. Now can only think of Ezekiel's vision of dry bones living again through Spirit of prophecy.

The scrolls were "bits" because misunderstanding, the shepherds thought more money would be paid them by the "pieces" of paper, so they broke up and tore the scrolls into into tiny pieces. This was not told to the press in light of the sensitivities surrounding the new State of Israel, thus provoking stories of conspiracies and secret negotiations. Thousands of hours were spent with magnifying glasses and tweezers trying to piece them into some semblance of recognizable writing. The films of the men doing this in the fifties are bittersweet, because they are working very carefully and tediously and casually smoking while doing so with this fragile, delicate, ancient material.

Why is it automatically assumed that it was Essenes living in Qumran rather than exiled Levitical priests who were replaced by Pharisees and Sadducees in temple service? Why can’t we expect that these exiled priests moved to this region instead, and took the temple scrolls with them in order to preserve the religious writings for safe keeping? Essenes were a secret society (mystic in nature) and had Coptic type writings. The findings at Ein Gedi appear to be more in keeping with Essenes and the Coptic/gnostic library found there versus the library found at Qumran, which is more biblical in nature. Perhaps this doesn’t fit with the narrative for Rabbinical Judaism (which replaced the true religion of the nation of Israel). And since all the research is being done by Rothschilds’ research teams, the findings (both archaeologically or scripturally) must either fit their narrative or be “benched”. This might explain why so little has been accomplished in over half a century!

The Dead Sea scrolls indicate that, according to Jewish code, the word Baphomet means Sophia (wisdom) in Greek (Christopher Knight, Robert Lomas, "The Second Messiah: Templars, The Turin Shroud & The Great Secret of Freemasonry", London, 1998, p. 117).

Thought of Abel & Cains offerings that weren't fully explained in Genesis yet mentioned of in Leviticus. Read (? Scripture) that was for a (? Yearly) sin offering for group of ppl & there was a lamb & a goat (symbolicly ? reminds of Abel & Cain; one acceptable offering & other not) the lamb was acceptable killed, etc & the goat was given prayers/promise to be taken away to live, then a priest held hand/s over head of the goat & said something a out sin. The goat was given to someone to walk it to a distant area so it would live somewhere else & not return. God was worshiped not the lamb or the goat. After Leviticus there were times God did not want sacrifices/killing of animals (didn't mention of continuing leading an a animal away or not). In NT Jesus tells of his returning others & these were ones that were killed by the flood, NT - all have sinned & fall short of the glory of God. Don't know of names of goats if any language used bphmt without vowels or where word baphomet came from yet it's pic is an old goat, etc on chair.

What's the point of the find of the scrolls in 1947? They have been using the KJV Holy Bible for a long time. It's belief and faith in God's word. It always seems that people want more proof. Well it would be nice to have more proof. That's what the ancients did when they crucified Jesus! Don't you understand anything about what Jesus taught about faith. If you keep looking for proof and more proof and more proof then there is NO faith in you. Just like the centurion that pierced Jesus, nobody really believed until Gods wrath was unleased and then it was too late. Seems to me that most of everything that is written in Hebrew and Acts is about faith. Why can't people accept that?

Okay so the Bible was written or translated from other languages such as Greek Aramaic, Hebrew over the generations. But they that did the translation did so from an original script. Was the dead sea scrolls the script that priests, or disciples translated from over the course of thousands of years before they were finally stored in the jars and hidden. The Bible has to have an original source! The Bible also refers to the book of Jasher which adds so much more details of events in the OT. One researcher refers to the scrolls as scraps as that's what condition they were in. There is just so much taken from the Old Testament prophets and reworded by the New Testament writers.
