In this video, I pull together a bunch of different stats to create the average 65 year old going into retirement. Some of the things I go through are life span, retirement savings, household net worth, how many of them have their homes paid off, total debt going into retirement, how much they spend over time, health care costs, social security, and a few more things.

A great video topic would be to do this but base it off of which state you retire in. Retiring in California is much different than in Wyoming

I'm 55, my wife is 60. Ever since I started working in my teen years, I've had people telling me social security is going to go away before I retire. Don't make decisions based on what people say. Fear is not a good strategy. IMO.

Just like earthquakes is California. Don’t build expensive buildings in San Francisco or Los Angeles that can survive big earthquakes because we haven’t got a big one in ages

Retiring basically now. No mortgage. Only living expenses are property taxes utilities groceries. Unlimited bus pass yearly is $600. Between dividends, capital gains, pensions, etc, this is easier than most people realize. All extra unearned income goes to investments and philanthropy hopefully. Helping people who want this, but are unemployed. Employment frankly is the most proven way to retirement. After unearned income exceeds living expenses, earned income is overrated. I'm 41 years old. I'm also interested in "working" to help people become like me. But this is moreso a labor of love. ❤

Do you have a video on recommendations of where a person should consider investing their money after they have retired? I'm doing aggressive low fee index funds right now in my 30s. I'm told I should invest in bond funds or stable value funds, but I'd like additional opinions.

Most of the retirees I see just sit at home all day. Why are so many people concerned about saving so much for retirement when most won't really go anywhere or do anything?

I am 64, and I am reallllllly scared these days about my income when I turn 65. I can't work, because I'm disabled, but luckily I have collected money in my retirement funds. What scares me is that it will drain up quickly when I have to pull it to live. I am moving lots of it to bonds and funds that won't lose money, but they won't grow much either. I am going to pinch pennies just to live!........
