Absolutely NO AUTO TUNE!!! Poor guy was really sick at time. If you listen for it, you can hear some congestion during the performance, but he STILL killed it. Amazing guy and singer ❤

I read a comment on another site where this woman's uncle passed away, and he was a huge fan of Disturbed. They played this song at his funeral with David Draiman singing. It is beautiful! Just don't feel you're being morbid, I don't plan on having a funeral, obit or anything, but if this song was playing, I just may think twice about attending my own ceremony!

Lol, this is great. I'm loving watching your reaction to this. It had the same affect on me, it completely blew me away and became my #1 song. It's like it's not even the same song that Simon and Garfunkel wrote and sang. This version has the true emotions boiling over in it. I now have the utmost respect for Disturbed and the lead singer. IMO the video represents the ability of music, through musicians, to spread the message of the people, those that aren't listened to, to the masses in hope of spreading a hope or dream & to those that do have a voice or power to influence change. The original WAS a warning of disconnecting from each other & the need to connect while this version is a wake up shout (as you said) in anger that we have not listened to that (now) 60 year old warning & are now more disconnected than we have ever been & becoming even more disconnected while we ironically have the ability to be so much more connected so easily.

He damaged his vocal cords shortly before the live performance and he had to adjust the way he sand so as to prevent further damage. The "glitch" is actually his voice cracking.

Elizabeth of The Charismatic Voice interviewed him and that’s exactly what he said. He had a lesion on his left vocal cord and was pumped full of Prednisone in order to make it through the performance. He’s not only a great singer but a great human as he’s a strong advocate for mental health. I’m totally obsessed!!

THIS is Goosebumps Music. David Draiman is a classically trained singer, he is capable of much more that just raspy heavy metal. And we can hear it here, it is so beautiful and haunting. When Paul Simon watched that live version in the Conan Show, he really loved it. 150 M views ! One comment reads: "One of the best live performances ever in TV history." Well, imo actually one of the BEST covers of ANY song EVER.

S&G's version was a warning that we are growing apart due, in part, to technology and that we need to learn to communicate our feelings and stop relying on material things to appease us. Wake up! Disturb's version is basically rage that we didn’t heed the warning in the 60's and now, 60 years later, we are even more attached to our "neon gods" internet, texts, emails, buried in our cell phones and communicate even more poorly than during the 60's with the civil unrest and the Vietnam war. Television, back then, was the 'neon god' that everyone paid attention to and paid less attention to humanity😢. We just don't get it! I'm 63 and, admittedly, never realized the meaning of the song, but David's delivery of the message really drove it home! I get it and I hope we all can wake up in time! Feelings and emotions are conveyed through music. In the video, the musicians on the left bring their instruments across the channel to the people with the sheet music on the right. A nice metaphor for the message that S&G were trying to convey. In the video, we don't see the boat meet up with the musicians, but, maybe, someday we will!😢 Thank you for sharing your reaction😊❤!
