The difference it, Blackwater dont provide Cannon-fodder package. They only provide high security guard and special force service. Only Wagner have Basic, Medium and Premium Package. Blackwater have Medium and Premium Package.

Wagner soldiers are soldiers just like every other soldiers....they excel in some areas and have weaknesses case in point African conflicts...especially Subsaharan African conflicts ...historically the Western soldiers do so poorly in African conflicts just look at Mogadishu, Rwanda or even more recently the USA troops killed in Niger ,but Wagner seems not to have this problem.... Also the US grossly exaggerates enemy casualties just like every other military out there so the 300 casualty figures being thrown about in the comments should be taken with a hefty grain of salt ...a very hefty one

Papal states had the swiss guards that were mercs, Bzyantium had varangian guards which were mercs, during the cold war the west and africa used mercs in africa. @@cathalobrien5691It's estimated about ~300 Wagner troops were decimated by US forces in an engagement in Syria, thanks to the Russian government liaison stating they did not belong to them. Had they owned up to the fact that these are essentially Russian troops, those men would still be alive. Not all of them died obviously, the term "casualty" is a bit misconstrued. Less than a third actually lost their lives, but still meant the other 2/3 could've been either critical condition, down to simply bruised. The Pro-Government Syrian troops weren't so lucky, they got absolutely shredded in the engagement. The US suffered no casualties aside from a non-combat, minor injury from one of the SDF troops. Currently, no, we are not in active, sanctioned combat with Wagner forces. But this specific incident is the one he's referring to.
