You forgot the context. The question was, who’s the messiest, he raised his wife’s shoe, and said “I’m a Marine”. Marines focus heavily on cleanliness in training, like making your bed, dressing nice, etc (hence dress blues). He was saying that it’s part of his job to be clean. Now some Marines just don’t give a shit and get it all together by the time there’s an inspection, of they’re reservists, but judging by this fella’s rank, Lance Corporal, it’s likely he recently (within the year) graduated boot camp or his schoolhouse, meaning he maintains an emphasis on cleanliness. So by him saying that, it doesn’t imply that he does it for attention since everybody already knows. It’s just because marines are supposed to be clean and disciplined. Stop getting triggered just because you think every marine is an attention whore, and they are surely way more disciplined than you.
