The Shogun 2 Mod with KOREA & CHINA: MORNING SUN!

Hideyoshi's invasions of korea were part of the sengoku period and had the apocalyptic monstrousness fitting of a historical total war. If it was a better known conflict in a better known area, the TW community might have welcomed the scope of the campaign (hideyoshi envisioned conquering china), the dramatic diversity in faction units and government-society, internal rivalries within factions, the impact of social policy on unrest/recruitment, and maybe even accepted hero units given the historical exploits of some generals. So appreciative that the modding community is making this happen and TripleZ for covering it. Hope they keep building it out as suggested side note: my computer went kaput a year ago and with it my ability to play any non-mobile games. But I'm glad you're still making these Shogun 2 videos so I can live vicariously. Thanks!

Welcome and yeah it’s a shame it’s not a factor in the base game to have an end game challenge of invading Korea after unifying Japan. Indeed Hideyoshi’s policies and invasion shaped the area for years to come with the Tokugawa implementing some of his reforms and even deciding to remain isolationist instead of expanding. Glad I’m able to share content with you, hopefully you’re able to get a new pc to play shogun 2 again in the future~

@@jonathanjrod Hi, I'm glad you're giving it a try. We do plan on updating the mod reasonably frequently. We're working towards a 4.0 official release that we'll upload when it's ready. There's no game mechanic for it, but there's nothing stopping you from invading Korea and China if you unify Japan. Also we're thinking of changing the TPY into 10 TPY, but I think it's currently at 12... But I might be wrong

Hey I have a question, I tried making my own Shogun II mod and it worked with one exception. It was simply a unit mod that added in some missing historical units and I made it for just me and my friend however in campaign the units names did not appear anywhere. Not on their unit cards, tec tree, recruitment tab, which made playing with them pretty much impossible. Other than that the units worked and looked really good. Any idea of what I had done wrong?

I think it's enough, but capturing becomes toooo boring after 40-60 provinces. Even in the short campaign Also, I would mention that different factions aren't balanced. For example, mongol and tibet factions have only 6 own units: 2 infantry units, 2 light cavalry units and 2 heavy cavalry units. And mounted bows are just trash, because they can shoot only forward, when advancing the enemy.

Was rather disappointing we never got a Mongol expansion like the original Shogun TW got, but this mod is awesome. I occasionally got crashes due to certain units which may be partially related to my other mods (A few times completely game breaking that would lock my save).

I am glad to see they at least got the mods for S2 working again, I might see if I can get that clusterfuss of a load order working again (Maybe merging the Portugal mod roster so I can take a more European Pike and Shot force across into Korea). Oh, one thing I noticed about the mod is that the Ming Empire always seems to get curbstomped and I have no idea how.

This mod looks sick. I would honestly love an "East Asia" total war that encompasses China, Manchuria, Korea, Japan, Indochina, even Indonesia, though all those regions on their own are so rich with history that it's probably impossible to make a game that huge, especially with CA's crunching.

i used to play this mod religiously and will probably go back to it soon now that ive thoroughly campaigned in TW3K, it's nice to see a video showcasing it because last I checked virtually no one was talking about it! another good mod from the same developer is "1351 Nanboku-cho", which is set in, well, 1351, and changes the Rise of the Samurai DLC. It's nowhere near as large as Morning Sun but it's very fun imo and makes ROTS really worth it (it's also where the "southern court" faction comes from that's shown in this video, maybe it was a leftover file from the 1351 mod)

Back when Shogun 2 got added to the launcher, I had a couple more installed and those mods were then permanently a part of my game even after uninstalling. Chief among those mods was Total Fall of the Samurai which changed the UI entirely, even for vanilla Shogun 2 battles. It also would make the start up buggy for some reason. Now my first thought was “okay whatever I’ll fix this later”. Last night I finally got annoyed and went into the games files and since I wasn’t thinking I just selected all the items (except the folders) under the data folder and deleted them all. Upon realizing I couldn’t start the game, I hit undo and things were working smoothly…until I went to start a campaign. For both vanilla and Fall of the Samurai, the game would load halfway then crash. I tried to uninstall, wait a couple minutes, then reinstall the game but that didn’t work. My only thought is somehow the files for the campaign map were not restored. Battle maps and units are all alright and as a side note, none of my installed mods are actually installed now. Is there anyway to fix this?

Try verifying the integrity of the game files, also you can just reinstall your mods now and see if they work

hi triplezhacker.. can u please make a video about how to micromanage the armies in shogun 2 total war and what are the buttons on keyboard to use because most of players including me have weakness in this aspect and don't know how to micromanage the units and even some skills like when to use loose formation or guard or skirmish and such things... I've been looking for a video for three years and didn't find a satisfying video yet so it will be highly appreciated if u can make a detailed video even if it might be a long video or a series of videos

What pc do you recommend for total war? Just a question because I'm trying to get a pc to play total war on the side and all

Hmmm I guess it depends on if you want to play the newest total war or not and your budget! I don’t know too much about building a pc but that is what most set out to do. I myself got a prebuilt pc (I know blasphemous) but it works well for running most of the games I enjoy playing and wasn’t too expensive. You ideally want something with solid graphics along with RAM and memory to be able to run these games. I think a few creators of total war also may have their PC specs in their bios or descriptions so you can try looking there too.

The Mod is Too big for my liking, not trying to discredit the Makers of it, It has decent rare units and Battles are epic but each Turn can take up to 45 mins, and Ending Turn will make the AI movements take up another 25 -30 mins to cycle through. Campaign map is bland textured, And cities are way to spread out. Sorry for the negative review but This Mod just didn't do it for me. Honest review.
