It’s reasons like this video that I usually chose the Battanian culture for my character, no matter who I side with. Their bonuses aren’t as great as the other factions, but that increased speed in forests is so useful for avoiding or hunting down annoying cavalry armies.

Someone either doesnt know what overburden is or this is a great "A" selftrolling your campaign. Edit: Damn i didnt expect there were even more ppl that didnt knew that mechanic , my guess is they never used the ^ symbol to expand their sidebar(down right corner) and see the other half of their party information including the PARTY SPEED and all the stuff that effect it. Im pretty sure there are videos with all the basics cuz the game itself doesnt really show/tell you much on its own.

@@finneich5105 if you hover over the movement speed you will see that the biggest penalty for movement speed after escaping is the "herd" debuff. that happens if you have to many animals in your party compared to how many men you have. you can either drop 2 horses or recruit 2 units and you easily outrun every lord in this game.

There is a mod called captivity events which allows you to do a lot of things to your prisoners, strip them, torture them or lock them in a harem. In my nomadic playthrough my warlord had dozens of women in his harem with unknown number of children, truly following footsteps of Genghis khan lol

All children were his legitimate children as the game doesn't have bastard children consept and his family page was so stupid with never ending children list. Tip for those fights, you want to win almost unwinnable in a defence, bottleneck a tower roof, the ai will single file up the stairs into 30-50 dudes swinging at him and you more or less turn into a blender.

Ah I remember my first play through. I married lucon's daughter and joined the northern empire. A war started and I beat all my opponents, saved a butt ton of people and helped in sieges and in return I got bloody 3 castles and two cities to protect. The northern empire started fights with damn near everyone and I lost everything, I was prisoner for 8 days in my own bloody city. While I stuck my neck out and saved every northern lord lucon abandoned me and then dared making peace. I pulled a John Marston and went after my old boss and every other fucker who wronged me. I declared war on half the damn map. After a 2 year war, I had executed lucon and 10s of lords from every empire and took back my amprela. Then I lost a siege against 1000 men and that's that.

For over 500+ hours of gameplay I had, I enjoyed 2 types of gameplay with 2 totally different sets that completely changes how the game plays out. Both are super fun and enjoyable, it actually depends on my mood which set I want to play. 1-Realistic Set: RBM(Realistic Battle Mod) ADS(Armor Does Something) Better Pikes Cinematic Combat Improved Executions Xorberax Calradian Patrols, Improved Garrisons Dynamic Troop Equipment System + Optional... Bannerlord Levies + Adonnay's Troop Changer + Mylittle Warband What this set does? Turns the game into a very realistic slow paced tactical combat. Acquiring elite troops is waay harder. And Elite troops won't die quickly. Your armor is not paper anymore. Arrows can bounce on ricochet angles or without enough penetration. Slices cannot cut through mail armor if their speed and swing cut dmg is not enough. Bouncing stun mechanic... Pikes and infantry are deadly... Defending castles are strategic and assaulting is waay deadlier. Units do not magically acquire super quality armor and armor can be looted by troops. Most importantly your trained super armored knights won't be killed instantly by 10 peasants surrounding them. Just like Warband even if weapons penetrate they will tickle mostly if you are high tier armored from head to toe. Bannerlord Levies makes it like more Feudal. Not everyone is a knight on the field. Most of the units will be levies and militia forces with mostly lightly armored. 2-Arcade Set: Take Both (Make sure AI also gets) Useful Companions Unlimited CAP + Wealthy Workshops (you'll need it) Heal on Kill (Make sure everyone benefits) Skills Matter Faster Movement Bodyguards Xorberax + Optional... Bannerlord Levies + Adonnay's Troop Changer + Mylittle Warband What this set does? Well it's arcade fun set. But makes the game super challanging as well as fast-paced. You can be instantly downed but if you get hit now there is a chance you keep fighting as long as you kill. Killing is rewarding. Your elite troops are usually stands to the last. Your bodyguards and you can do last stands basically. Skills matter increases every skills, if you lower your shield you can instantly get 3 arrows to the head, early arena grind is harder since AI units with 100-200 stats gonna obliterate you. Makes the early game longer with bandit and looter grinds until you can go on par with AI units. I saw 2k-3k-4k armies sticking together while you can make 400-500 standing army of your own. That's why unlimited cap and workshops mod is needed. There is no money method in game that can sustain these type of huge standing armies with high tiers all around. AI can sustain with cheats... Also no matter what elite troops you may have, you will never be able to defeat 2k-3k stacks with your 300-500 elite troops so somewhat realistic/consistent on its own. You can use ADS + Bannerlord Levies enables you to have feudal style armies and knights being literally Arthur Dayne slicing and dicing levies like butter with their eyes closed while healing unlimitedly while taking 0 dmg but it breaks the game, knights being immortals. So I avoid using ADS, but taking Heal on Kill. Which is more suitable for arcade. You are rewarded for 1v1's. You are punished when 1v10+ where they can surround you and 0 your hp bar since the dmg received will be bigger than the healing from dmg output + kills. You can rebalance from mod menu as you wish. I think both set is unique. Both set has their own pros and cons. Currently I enjoy arcade style. Because fights are fun, you don't die instantly, you can be like hero units, it's faster not boring, more challanging since AI also will utilize what you utilize. Expect to go 1:2 , 1:3, 1:4 almost all the times so you'll need your companions' party supporting you.

@@DeBunny00 Cheers mate. It just increased the longevity of the game for me. 200+ hours and I was done with the vanilla game normally if not for the mods. I didn't mention but I also use Arena Overhaul (for Arena mod. It allows you to join in as a team up to 16 teammates that you choose. Up to 8x16 maximum competitors on the field), Diplomacy, Better Time, Governors Handle Issues and Minor Faction Recruits and so on as standard. Wish I had time to share my gameplays and make awesome edits just like you.

I have a game that I have been playing for on and off for the last like 6 months and my character is Sturgian but fights for the Vlandians. I led battle after battle, war after after, army after army to take the land of Sturgia, I control all of that land and then some. I pushed so far through Sturgian land that I ended up fighting the Kuzhaits, I then had to run back to fight the battanians for 5 long bloody wars over the course of 7 in game years. I'm known as death to my enemies. First through the breaches, first up the ladders, first through the gates, as soon I get on the walls the AI starts running. I recently fought a battle against an army of 1200 troops with my army of 800, but the balance of power was in my favor. I killed almost 300 men on both horse back and on foot with my axes.

He has a daughter and wife that he really wants to see, but if he goes home, the kingdom will be left in turmoil with no general to lead armies into battle. That ending struck a chord with me. Did a Western Empire playthrough, until my clan was powerful enough to govern two holds and a few castles, as well as married to the niece of the faction leader. We became one of the two dominant powers, but the Aserai had expanded until they owned half of the southern region of the continent. The faction leader called for us to counter their aggressive expansion. We fought three wars in the name of haulting them, and after losing the first two, something snapped in my character's head. He donned an executioners helm, even in battle, and executed any and all Aserai leaders he captured. No quarter. Slowly, the Aserai's northern holdings fell with no nobility to lead their armies. If Gaius would not do what was necessary to stamp out the Aserai curs, then I would.

My last play through was right after reading Blood Meridian, I named my character Glanton and kept my party around thirty members. Fought bandits and got a mercenary contract for the red guys and then somehow got two castles and wound up in a huge amount of debt because my main income was raiding bandits and other factions we were at war with. To fix it I left the faction and attacked their caravans as payback and wound up fighting every faction in the world except the desert one. Most fun I’ve had in a while.

there is no better feeling then getting the perk steed killer and one of the other perk that increases damage to mounts and then wielding a 2 handed axe preferablely the executioner or a better smithed one and absolutely destroying the horses legs

Using spear and shield makes me feel much safer. Try going against an entire army of just cavalry with lances crouched and if you ain't got the best armor in the game you'd get destroyed with one or two hits of crouch lances and bows and arrows.

Tactics... your sturgia. Use shieldwall at maximum range until they run out of ammo. Square formation to absorb the cavalry charge. 2 squares minimum is good because you can flank on advance before you charge. And SPREAD OUT YOUR ARCHERS! Use cavalry to support the infantry, don't charge until there lines are disbursed.

Always check to see if you have animals in your inventory after you escape the dungeons. If they outnumber your party you'll get slapped with the herding debuff and that cuts your speed practically in half. It took me ages to notice why I kept getting recaught

Would you like to know how to win up to a 10 v 1 ratio of battles? 4 Groups of Shield Infantry, at least 40 units. 1 group of Cavalry and 1 group of Archers. If you like then 1 group of shock infantry (two handed infantry who don't use shields). Do the following: Against Cavalry: command shield infantry to fall into square formation and use the 4 groups to make a 'crescent' protecting your line of loose formation foot archers. This makes your infantry largely invulnerable to cavalry. Use your Shock Infantry very very close to the last line of loose formation Foot Archers to protect against enemy Cavalry charges into your Archers. Use your own Cavalry to counter enemy Cavalry. Against Archers: Command all Shield Infantry to use Shield Wall, a line at-least 3-4 ranks deep. Hide Archers and Shock Infantry behind this shield wall. Wait until enemy archers run out of arrows and then loose formation your archers so they fire at the enemy as your infantry slowly advance to meet enemy infantry. Against Infantry: Shield Infantry do good only against other Shield Infantry and Shock Infantry do good against both Shield and other Shock Infantry. Usually you have Shield Infantry Shield Wall meeting Enemy Shield Infantry and then command the Shock Infantry to got to a side and flank, only giving the charge order when near enemy infantry. Best Civilisations for all Types of Units: Shield Infantry EMPIRE Shock Infantry ASERAI/EMPIRE Cavalry EMPIRE Foot Archers BATTANIA Horse Archers KHUZAIT Althought don't use horse archers, they are too weak to counter anyone effectively, save only for Khan's Guard with lots of micro-management. I hope this helps the next time Derthert decides targeting you, SPECIFICALLY, is a good idea.

I found myself in similar situation at 1:11. Some cities, castles have 2nd keep with gate. That way I decied to abandon all the main walls send all my trops to 2nd keep, set infantry in shield formation from 1 side to let enemy in while the archers were from all 3 sides a way back so they don't get agro 1st. It worked and I won 1:10 defence with loosing only few shieldwall people.

How to play the game without losing your mind - 1 - Start off by putting everything into smithing and buying hardwood, weapons, melting them down, and making even more weapons until you have infinite money. 2 - Power level your characters combat by taking down small groups of Looters and winning tournaments on your own. 3 - Get lots of horses and lots of food (so you and your massive army can fly across the map). 4 - Read the Art of War by Sun Tzu (or any book on historical military tactics). 5 - Build a cohesive army with units that compliment each other (eg, pikes & archers, Shield Wall & Cavalry). 6 - Only fight battles you know you might win (you can always retreat and fight another day). 7 - Blot out the sun with the number of arrows your army will be firing.
