Of course we found this video helpful. I'm sure if you did a video on tire inflation, we'd watch.

Thanks Bob! Consider using distilled water vs tap water like I did. I have never used distilled water but others insist on it because minerals in tap water can attack the aluminium in the radiator and cause leaks. Being that GM never required it from the factory and the fact that the rad is 49 years old, I'm good. But the choice is yours.

Is there anyway to use a coolant that you don’t have to mix with water?
@MikeHammill-TheShop4 жыл бұрын
Honestly, I don't know. Never explored this option.

Mike Hammill If I cant find more info on this I’ll just use a green coolant that I have to mix with water
@coreyrocha94164 жыл бұрын
Did you drain the block as well?
@MikeHammill-TheShop4 жыл бұрын
Yes. Both times. The old coolant and radiator flush mix was removed by flushing through clean water. There was clean water in the block when the final water/coolant mix was added.

Should wd40 be sprayed on petcock?
@MikeHammill-TheShop Жыл бұрын
That's a good idea. Pentratiing oil might be a good idea too if the petcock is rusted.

After how long should this be flushed and or changed?
@MikeHammill-TheShop4 жыл бұрын
Austin, I recommend checking technical sources on this. It depends on the coolant you are using and the condition of your car. Testing is the best way to determine this. Here's a good source on testing. kzbin.info/www/bejne/o3m3fmaaq9V3Z68

What Year C3? My 1970 C3 did not have the side tank and the Radiator was different?
@MikeHammill-TheShop5 жыл бұрын
Hi Curt! This is a 72. I wasn't aware there was a difference to the 1970.

Is it possible that your car has had it's radiator replaced in the past? In any case, the method would be the same regardless of where the radiator cap is located.

Why did you put the radiator cap on the painted fender without something to protect the paint. You didn’t remove the drain plugs on the sides of the block to fully drain the block. Why didn’t you use DISTILLED WATER? Tap water contains unwanted, possibly harmful chemicals.
@MikeHammill-TheShop Жыл бұрын
Probably should have put the cap somewhere else. I drained the system with the car running after using the flush. No I didn't remove the block drain plugs. I idled the car with a hose in the overflow tank and the peacock open. Maybe not a perfect solution, but it works. My water source is a well from an aquifer. No added chemicals.

Are you kidding, first you lay the metal cap on the fender-without a fender protector or cover of some sort. If that were my car I would pull it out of your shop, Then you use a garden hose to fill it back up for the flush, NEVER use tap water, always distilled which is cheap and available at any food store.... I stopped watching after the garden hose....
