I'm vaguely upset by this. Just in December Alireza was playing every tournament he could to get into the Candidates, leapfrogging over otherwise potential WC challengers like So and Giri. Finally he gets there and, in this video, within a few minutes he's waving down an arbiter to confirm his quick draw. I'm sure most players would do the same in the final round of a tournament they couldn't win, but it was nice to see Pragg win his game in the same situation.

Pragg had to fight bcz his opponent of that day, Nijat said that his goal is to win at least one match and this is last chance for him and losing match would be bad for anyone so Pragg played. With better player, probably he too would have gone for easy draw.

Its called "en passant". You can capture en passant when your pawn is one square deep into your opponent's half of the board, and they move their pawn two squares from its starting square such that it lands directly next to yours.

The arbiter then looked at the moves and deemed it to affect the integrity of the game and tournament. Vidit vs alireza was basically the same thing, they went down a drawn line but didn’t make it blatantly obvious.
