I can see why a resin can infer that Shrek made up his name on the spot, as it certainly does sound like it. But I always chalked it up to Shrek being genuinely surprised that Donkey wasn’t scared of him. He didn’t run away like everyone else did and was the first creature to actually talk to Shrek. Hell, Donkey even said he liked Shrek right before he asked for his name. I think Shrek was secretly happy that someone was trying to connect with him instead of running away and he just didn’t know how to react at first.

Shrek also is Yiddish (Which Derives From German) which makes sense since the other of Shrek comes from Jewish ancestry. This also supports a common theory that Shrek himself is Jewish.

I think why Puss became a sidekick may refer to the fact that in Shrek 2 Puss N Boots was an expert ogre assassin but somehow was easily disarmed by Shrek and ended up joining him instead which doesn't make the most sense considering Puss N Boots was supposed to be an expert in killing ogre's so you think he would've put up much more of a fight.

Illumination working on Shrek 5 is somewhat true. From what I could gather, Illumination was given the task of a fifth Shrek movie since DreamWorks and Illumination are both owned by Universal. Illumination was going to make Shrek 5 a reboot of the series. However, later on, it seems that things have changed, and now, Dreamworks is once again doing Shrek 5 and it will be a true sequel.

i can answer the Puss one. when Shrek captures Puss and Donkey threatens to give him "the Bob Barker treatment" you might know what that means, Puss begs for his life and lets it slip that he was paid by Harold to kill Shrek. Puss then states that he will be at his side until he could repay his debt and help Shrek, which comes when he takes on the knights. Puss stayed with the gang because grew close to them and became good friends. as for the Puss in Boots spinoff movie, that could come before his ventures in Far Far Away.

I'm in the UK but from what I remember Fiona headbutted Charming. The UK version did have a few minor differences though, like the ugly stepsister had a different voice actor

That is weird, as far as I know it's a common thing in animated movies kinda like a localization thing I heard of the Ugly Stepsister having a different actor and Joan Rivers doesn't voice the red carpet announcer in the UK version either. It's weird to me that they replace celebrity cameos in movies kids wouldn't notice

But it came at a cost and/or she did something with (Cinderella’s) charming giving her a son but not the Crown leaving FG to find another kingdom to rule (Far Far Away)
