I would never play a talent show or anything at a high school. Been there, done that. They either ignore you (like in this case) or get super excited, cause trouble and you end up banned forever.

in case you’re still wondering 6 years later, you should know that i had insane difficulty doing it with regular fingerpicking. i ended up using a thumbpick, which made it way easier, though it’s not the way Robin Pecknold does it, and maybe not the way i’d do it today.

It’s an extra verse that Fleet Foxes added to some live performances. Something like: “When the tide came in, the eyes would never let you stay In the nighttime, with the light on, every light, all day In the ocean, leaving me no time to obey”
