I agree with pretty much all of the other positive, keep your head up, comments….But, if I had one suggestion… I always wondered what I would tell myself if I got to fish at your level… The best thing I would tell myself or anyone else is “go fishing like you would every Saturday with a best friend every time you go out on the water” GOOD LUCK, SOUKUP!

Praying for you buddy. I know this has to be a nightmare compared to what you had visualized but you are learning lessons that will never leave you no matter where your fishing career takes you. And anyone who is a true fan of bass fishing knows it’s just a matter of time before the real John Soukup shows up. Sometimes it only take one good event or even one good fish catch to get this train back on the tracks. Like you already know, let your instincts lead and have fun doing it.

It's easy for me and anyone else to say it, but just go have fun. You have all the skills required and the know-how. Just let it happen and enjoy yourself doing it. If it's ment to be, it'll will be. Enjoy the ride. If you are an analyzer by heart, try to only analyze the positives. Only focusing on the positives has always helped me get out of a slump. It can be tough, but you can do it...and one more thing, fish the way you like to fish, no matter where you are, do what you like and have confidence in and good things will happen. Thanks for bringing us along. It seems to me when you had success in the npfl and the opens you used your livescope competitive advantage. I haven’t seen it play much in the elites , I’d love to see you lean on it more as a fan

I’ve done well with and without it. Timing has my success with it ultra highlighted. It’s a great tool, and knowing when to and when to let go of Livescope is the key. All comes down to those gut decisions. Got to know when to hold ‘em…..

Good luck on the next one. You know how tournament fishing goes, there are tournaments it seems like you are lost and can’t do anything right, then all of the sudden it happens and you can’t beat them off the hook. Those are the times when you get ahead of them and can do no wrong. I believe your thinking is correct, put your head down and the “zone” will come brother.

I'm from AL and fish the Coosa river lakes every week, don't get locked on largemouth at lay lake those big spots will get in that willow grass as good as any. Make your mind up if you are going to lake fish or river fish. Waxahachie, peckerwood are my 2 go to pockets for big fish on the lake. When the water is running get on obvious current breaks with a jig or swimbait

Yeah when your sight fishing you need to find 150 dots minimum..cause 70-120 are either already spotted or Goin to be found by someone.. Lay lake is funny but if you find something good it generally works over a few days.

John you're over analyzing just cause you started out in a rut. The opens last year - you started on fire and just fished through the rest of the year. You are too good the universe will line back up for you just relax a little. You could even win one before years over. Then you'll look back on these days and laugh. Followed you through npfl days and I know you will make it. Do this - Next time on stage tell Mercer to pronounce your name right. Sookup like look up. You told the MC at npfl tournament cause you were doing well and full of confidence. You just feel to meek around elites cause you haven't proven yourself to them yet. It will happen. Go catch them at Lay Buddy.

You have got too many distractions in your mind. Get your affairs whatever they are in order and go back to fishing with confidence you know how to catch fish and how to win at this point its all in your mind. You can do this stop over thinking and analyzing just fish
