Wow! I haven't seen where I grew up in years. Everything looks way different from childhood days. Not gonna lie, this video gets me emotional. Good job capturing all this!

Portland is the most beautiful and safe place in Jamaica. I lived there for 6 years. Spent 9 months on the John Crow mountains overlooking the Rio Grande Valley and Blue Mountain peak. A place called Park Mount. Also lived in Longbay. The ride to Moore Town is great..

You don't see the road them a fix?you not watching the video? Just asking
@alanoakley32424 ай бұрын
@@glentonewin7606 It's all relative. The first time I drove on these "fixed" roads as a visitor from the UK, my comment was: "These are only roads if you're a goat". I subsequently visited again when the roads had deteriorated and, after placing my life in the hands of the Almighty to pass a hazard known locally as "Friday" experienced renewed appreciation for those fixed roads and understood completely why locals celebrated them. The other side of the argument is that poor roads constitute natural traffic calming. How many more motorists and pedestrians might have lost their lives in the Rio Grande Valley if it were feasible to drive at 50kph plus? There are no sidewalks but there are trees and falling rocks to test the reflexes of us tourists in our unfamiliar rental cars, not to mention gullies and a voracious river awaiting those who fail. While there, I used to drive my cousin back and forth between Gray Town and Port Antonio and even let her drive herself, confident because the state of the roads forces everyone else to drive sedately. I'm told that even Friday is fixed now but, again, it's all relative so I'll pass judgement when I see it for myself.
