THANK YOU, THANK YOU so much for this wonderful and easy to follow updo tutorial I am a 68 yr old woman that has wanted to keep my hair long . But that can be challenging , make you look older instead of it being an asset. We had an event to attend that required "cocktail attire". I was fretting as to WHAT I was going to do with my hair. Knew I wanted to wear it up . But how to fix it, feel GOOD about it and it look elegant ?? I had no clue. Until I found your channel. Several people complimented my hair - asked where I had it "done" :) Told them to check out your channel!

I've been meaning to comment for over a year. I did my hair like this for a semi-formal, lake-front, wedding. I'm not a big dancer, but keeping in mind what you said about it not being the most secure style, and being on the lake, I double pined everything, crossing the pins. My hair was about the length of yours, but had been thinning due to some medication I was on, and I was very self-conscious about that. With a little teasing, and doing the rolls in the back loosely, I was able to create an illusion of thicker hair. I received many compliments, and felt beautiful. I'm going to another wedding in a couple of days and plan to do this again. I will add that I usually found trying to put my hair up to be a disaster, but, after watching you 3 times, I got it right on the first try. I'm hoping last time wasn't just beginner's luck. Also, guess what? I'm on a different medication and my hair has thickened up quite a bit. Thank you so much for this clear, easy-to-follow, tutorial.

Excellent tutorial, you explained so well I was able follow along with no problem. Thank you. Quick question can you do a tutorial on how you prep your hair for these amazing updoo's that you do? And what products you use? I'm a hair stylist and your curls and the volume you have in your hair before you start is absolutely beautiful.

i have really fine, thin blonde hair, i am finding it very difficult to create the illusion of volume with my updo's as my hair either fall out of the hair style or appears flat, do you have any tips?
@mysticartist69369 жыл бұрын
601salsa I do. I must use more bobby pins to keep things in bigger loops and I use a light spraying of volumizing extreme hold hair spray or a hair spray called freeze spray and a quick spray after placing each pin. Beauty supply shops and wig shops carry lightweight hair "poofs" you pin under the top layer of your hair for instant volume. My hair is difficult at times too so I don't begin the hairstyle until I have lightly sprayed and then combed it so it stops frizzies or falling strands of hair.

I love this hairstyle, but my hair is very long & slippery (like it won't hold a tease very well & bobby pins just fall out even if I hairspray them first). Any tips?
@teresahannasch34208 жыл бұрын
chris green Philly reinforce the bobby pins by putting them into an x shape whenever possible. I have the same problem
@GladysAlicea8 жыл бұрын
Even w/my hair which isn't slippery, length and thickness can create same problem depending on style. Try a tiny bit of pasty gel; to avoid too much, place an index-finger's worth (depending on thickness/length of hair), spread it through your fingers and just dab a little in areas you'll use to make french twist (which won't show greasy look). Gel make the hair easier to handle, but remember to use sparingly. You can always add more if needed. Good luck!

It looks beautiful. She's so skillful with styling hair, bobby pins, everything. I think it's really important to have some curl before starting, as she said. My hair is very straight. I haven't been able to curl it satisfactorily enough, or in the right way, to do this style. I've looked at a lot of updo videos and this is one of the easiest to follow, though. Hers and Milabu. I'll keep trying. 👍🏼

Hi! Would this style work with an A line bob cut? I can't seem to wear my hair in an updo it's so short.
@sandramac605 жыл бұрын
Thank you! You explain each step so well, and by demonstrating on yourself, rather than styling someone else's hair, you show us that this style CAN be done by oneself, in one's mirror, checking and rechecking as you go, and feeling each step. I have always wanted to do this type of style, rather than cut my hair (I love it longer, as does my husband!) I can even take this video to a stylist, to show her what I want, rather than trying to explain it, myself. Again, great tutorial, for a style I have always wanted to achieve!

I don't have bangs or any layers around my face. What can I do with the front instead of it straight back or a little bump?
@GladysAlicea8 жыл бұрын
This is a "fav" video; since I have very long hair (mid-back), and it's very thick (yes, I'm blessed, but it's a lot of work), I really like the step-by-step instructions. I find most long-hair vids or fav-hairstyle vids go very fast. Since I'm very good w/my own hair, I usually end up making an entirely new style a bit different from the video. That said, thank you so much for giving me an easy way, besides the many hair pins I'll need, to do one of my all-time fav do's. BTW, to dress it up even further, I add pretty, glittery clips at the end; if colors match the outfit, even better! Thanks again!

When teasing hair does the part in your hair have to be straight or just pick up hair and tease it ?
