@geroutathat5 жыл бұрын
@@RocketDragons The highland bagpipes came from Ireland. They were "warpipes" books in England around the 15th century remarked how Ireland didnt use trumpets and used an ingenuous instrument you blow into a bag and then use your elbow to control the flow of air. Thats why you can still buy some today that are usually called Brian Boru Warpipes. The uilleann pipes are the ones used mostly in Irish music because they have greater range and the person can play sitting down, do not confuse this instrument for Ireland never having one you blow into directly. But the scottish Highlanders again, are genetically Irish, there are 6 genetic groups in Scotland, the gaelic talking/bagpipe playing ones are so closely related to Irish they could be Irish, they make up 2 genetic groups, the other 4 are more like cousins of the Irish. So Irish people really need to start accepting that Scotland is huge part of what they consider "irish", and basically vice versa, they are the same people after all.. All of that said, yes they are probably trying to emulate the scottish sound with the bagpips and not the Irish sound, or like you said a Gael/Celtic sound overall.

Sidh (pronounced shee) is a fairy, with the diminutive sidh ean (sheen), which more especially carries the meaning of Fairy Hill. Witchcraft and Superstitious Record in the South-Western District of Scotland So, can't assume it is Irish when the language is very similar. Also, this played on a Great Highland Bagpipe. Either way it is well executed and I want more!

In my experience, people who say that they hate bagpipes don't know when they've heard them played well. I was at a local fubdraiser event a few years back and someone (the organisers brother or something) just showed up with bagpipes to 'entertain' the queues. He wasn't good, everyone hated it. But later in the event was some dancing to music that had bagpipes played properly and most people there loved it despite the fact they 'hate' bagpipes.

Because they are both stylistically powerful, both have similar high pitch noise and they have a long history of pairing, since AC/DC's long way to the top

That looks like redpipes? I'm a bagpiper myself, are they the traditional Great Highland Bagpipes? Bagpipes are such a unique and beautiful sounding instrument.

Internet: How Irish are you? SIDH: My bagpipe has lyrics that you'll forget a song should have words
@voidlaser025 жыл бұрын
A song doesn't need to have words. In fact, the first instances of recorded music were instrumental. People started adding words to make it easier to understand the meaning of the song.

I LOVE THIS! Idk why people hate bagpipes. this is awesome! I could listen to this all day!
@WhitzWolf922 жыл бұрын
Bagpipes are naturally loud and difficult to play, since they are so unlike any other wind instrument, making it easy for less skilled players to overpower their listeners and fellow band members. But I'm totally with you, when played competently, few instruments can compete with bagpipes and the SIDH do a fantastic job.
@nisb90052 жыл бұрын
Because the only bagpipes anyone ever hears are played in one note, and at funerals.
@Aevum13th Жыл бұрын
@@nisb9005 I've also heard it at parades, but they were often just playing drawing out one long note at a time, and got kind of grating at they are always used for a little part that is repeated the exact same for the entire parade. It'd kind of led me to believe that the bagpipes was a really slow kind of instrument of very few notes, and was pretty surprised when I found out it was used in a few songs I've heard before, I assumed it was a different instrument.

Having a mom from Nova Scotia, I’m so sick of the bag pipe (which she loves and listen to every day, agh!), BUT….THIS IS THE FIRST AND ONLY TIME IT SOUNDS ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!!!!! Thanks for breaking the stereotype and showing it’s not limited to old geezers and parades!

The reason I love these kinds of videos is coz I get to see the artists and their talent. That's it, just the music. No random naked girls, no random bullshit. Just pure music and emotions. Don't misunderstand, i'm eclectic, I love all music. But this is my favorite type of music Video. So good :>
