I also had a hard time. I had to travel about an hour and a half away from my home, but it was well worth the trip. It really is a good-looking weapon, and I do enjoy shooting it. I purchased to carry model also.

Love me a 1911! You mention "Commander" version: I once had a Colt Lightweight Commander...maybe you've had a chance to shoot one in the past? I have 2 1911 frames now and looking for a 3rd... maybe I'll check this one out. Congratulations on your purchase of a big boy caliber!

They originally had a stainless barrel, I ordered a new one and it came with the carbon steel barrel so I sent it back and they replaced it with the correct stainless barrel since I hadn't shot it and they threw in a free mag for my troubles

I have never seen a brand new gun out of the box , wrapped in plastic with the hammer cocked with the magazine in it . I've seen plenty with the magazine in but NEVER the hammer cocked . The first thing I would have done after seeing this is clear the gun .

Just ordered mine. Its a beautiful firearm. This will be my fifth Sig and 4th 1911. Awesome video! Only disagreement... I think Sig makes some terrible cheap cases. The latches easily break off without care.

Bought my Nightmare back around Christmas time in 2014. Took it out and put about 500 or so rounds through it before it got put in storage for the past 5 years or so. It's well past time to take it out again. Gonna do it this weekend when I take out my Walther Q4 SF. Steel Frame Sunday.

I got mine some year's back that has the stainless barrel. Academy had a biy one get a 22 caliber 1911 free so i couldn't resist the deal.

WARNING: They changed the beautiful stainless steel barrel to a garbage nitride standard barrel. I was going to buy, but I would rather not deal with a company that makes cheap and inconsiderate moves like this to undermine the consumer: The evidence is that they did not just change but completely removed their stock photos from the Sig Sauer website. Absolutely a shame, and I cannot wait to spend my money elsewhere. I hope they read this and reverse that horrible decision. Shame on you Sig Sauer, I supported your company, but this is scummy marketing and consumer manipulation. Solid F-
