How can India engage with the ASEAN countries if India will not even join the RCEP? How can India offer better terms than what would be available within RCEP? Also, there seems to be no discussion on what can India offer the ASEAN countries? These two people talk about establishing partnerships to boost India's capability and its reach. Nowhere did they discuss how can India benefit the other countries in East & Southeast Asia? The Chinese, when engaging with other countries, always talk about win-win relationships. These two people talk all about what benefits India will get from partnering with other countries, but nothing about what benefits will the other countries get from India.
