I remember that the actor who played the TV repairman did the voices of Winnie the Pooh and the Cheshire Cat in Disney movies.

Not one of my favorite Zones. It's hard to care what happens to either of these thoroughly unpleasant people. Joan Blondell does a fine job playing the wife, though. This episode reminds me of "A Most Unusual Camera" in that the future is foretold through a common device and someone ends up dying by falling out of a window.

I saw it as a cautionary tale. Don't get so stuck in your pattern of life that even a vision of your own demise if you don't change cannot induce you to do so. Joe knew what would happen if he didn't change his ways but was so inured to the hatred and violence he was powerless to avoid them. The acting here was top-notch, too.

You did a great job analyzing this episode, but frankly I never liked this one at all. Who ever the intended audience is, it certainly doesn't include me. In one sense, it reminds me of "Deaths-Head Revisited", a half-hour of anger and violence. At least with that episode there is something in the way of a reason for it. I don't like that episode either. I get it, I just don't like it. This one seems to be gratuitous anger and violence, there's no purpose. I see no Aesop-fable element here. I understand William Demerest, who later spent several years on "'My Three Sons" was a bit cranky in real life, sailors language and all. The woman in the car with him was Sandra Gould, the second "Gladys Kravits" from "Bewitched". The idea of the tv going all static when his wife came into the room immediately brought to mind the TZ episode "Static" where Ed's radio would lose his oldies station whenever Vinnie or the Professor would come in his room. Still, great review. Thanks again!
