I totally love this song. Even though I’m part English and Irish. I have lived in Scotland most of my life and the people I have met here affected my life profoundly , a lot are no longer with me but I loved and learned from them all. God bless them all never forgotten 🌸🌸🌸

A fine and rousing rendition of one of our most beautiful Scottish folk songs. Casting my mind back to seeing The Silencers in 1988 at the Textile College in Galashiels. The audience was small, and the 'stage' was about a foot high. My mates and I (we'd driven down from Edinburgh on a midweek night as I remember) were right in front of the band. What a great night we had. Danced and sang the nicht awa!

This song is one that has been passed knee to knee through my family and I still sing it to the mountains each year on the anniversary of my Grandfathers passing. I enjoyed their moderate modernization of it..

My feet may walk in America, but my heart beats on always in Scotland's Highlands. This is a tear-bringing version and full of depth and nuance, by all the musicians/performers. The lovely singer inspires finer dreams and brighter smiles with her every gesture.. Bless all.

I first heard this song decades ago, not sure who was singing, but the song itself touched me deeply and finally finding this version of the song is like coming home.... I can't hear it enough.... the music, the vocals, the video, all so beautiful.... I am not Scottish, but I know in my heart when I do go to Scotland I won't ever want to leave...

Just beautiful, could listen to forever. Only problem is it makes me so bloody homesick it hurts. Miss the rain, the wind the cold and the midges!

No, a midge is a little annoying fly that bites, and usually floats around in a swarm of hundreds or thousands.

Came here after I was reminded of the beautiful advert for Visit Scotland done by an old mate Simon Scott who died this week. He and fellow creative Andrew Lindsay chose this as the soundtrack for their ad. It's a beautiful little commercial and I think one of the most evocative travel ads I've ever seen. It's also a fitting tribute for an amazing man.

I was recently playing The Byrds version of Wild Mountain Thyme. It triggered a memory of another version I remember seeing on an advert for I think the Scottish tourist board?
