The Silent 80: Amazing Solar Powered Yacht: Ocean Going Catamaran: Solar Boat solar watercraft

The SILENT 80 luxury catamaran is a solar-powered model constructed by Austrian shipyard Silent-Yachts offering an LOA of 24m/79ft. The naval architecture is the work of Enrique Castilla from Insenaval while Marco Casali from Too Design created the interior and exterior styling. The flexible accommodation layout can provide for 8-12 guests over 4-6 cabins respectively, with a crew of four to provide stellar service throughout the cruise.

we are right now having 8 (EIGHT!) Silent 60 under production in 3 production lines! Due to Corona the delivery is slightly delayed, but in early spring the first 3 boats will be splashed. We produced already 4 Silent 64, 7 Silent 55 and we will deliver another about 15 yachts in 2020. (I´m Michael Köhler - CEO of Silent Yachts).

Great in concept. Great for advancing the technology for the industry overall. However, there are few power boaters who only want 15 minutes of full speed. Thats just not going to work. Not for the price they are selling these at. Yes, I accept that there are those who are investing in the company and getting yachts but this concept is not ready for production.....yet.
