I simply love watching the two of you working together so compatibly to take care of all the livestock. Even in cold, rainy weather, everything on your farm seems neat, orderly and organized -- a product of many years of trial and error to where you have refined every aspect of the operation. The transformation of the cattle barn was a brilliant idea. Not having to move the large round bales long distances to another structure has to be more efficient. This was a very peaceful video to begin my Sunday morning.

Wow, the music from Georges Bizet's 1875 opera, "Carmen," playing in the background as you and Hilary get busy early on a winter morning cleaning out the pig-pens. The high and the low. As I write, the pigs are no longer with you, and I think you're going to miss them and their pleasant oink-y conversations. I will miss them, for sure. Sadly, that chapter had to close, but when this video was made, you still hadn't made the decision, hoping that Billy would do what was expected of him. They were cute, as pigs go.

My dad raised hogs. He kept from 50 to 500 depending on the time of year and his needs at the time. He always said that it just smells like money cleaning up the hog barn.

I applaud farm women. They all work very hard. My Mom is the go to for setting tractor points. She can just eye up the gap. She is amazing. She's 78 now and still carries 5 gallon pails full of water to give to our 15 juvenile heifers.

I enjoy the videos of the animals. It brings back a lot of memories. We raised cattle, pigs, turkeys, and chickens as well when the children were growing up. The plan was to keep good meat in our freezer and pass on country living experience for the kids. Watching your videos causes me to hope that maybe the children will consider starting it up for the grandchildren. It is a great way of life and teaches such valuable life lessons. Thanks for all the hours of enjoyment that you all bring to us.

We found that a one sided cast iron bath tub works great as a watering trough, its heavy enough the cows cant push it around. We use one to feed grain to our bulls to because they break everything else we have tried to use as a bunk.

My favorite part of cleaning the coop is leaving the clump os sawdust intact & seeing how far the hens spread it out the next day. They usually do a pretty good job of it. 😏
