I have three silent plant killers. One is a tuxedo named Knuckles, one is all black named Crammy, and one is a cinnamon tabby named Tiger. They've snuffed a good dozen over the years.

I'm lucky to have a wonderful cat Now who doesnt care at all for plants. In the past, I had a lovely boy who would go after anything green, and even lusted after corn silk.
@excel046 ай бұрын
My solution to this was to buy specific plants for my cat. He's learned where he can chew and where he can't. He's got a cat grass box on the window sill and a few cheap spider plants near where he perches to watch the birds. It's also good info for me when I see him chewing them because it means he's self medicating his tum.

Inspired by this I just googled the effects of air freshners and perfumes on plants. I found a 20 year old study that says, yep, plants don't like whiffy sprays. The "same air freshener [was sprayed] at different distances, i.e., 30, 60 and 90 cm. from the tip of the plant. Results showed that there was a significant decrease in the chlorophyll and protein content of plants exposed at different distances."

That explains the peace lily that I just recently slowly killed, regardless of the care I gave it. I had it right next to my fruit bowl that was always housing apples. Now i know.

hi mr sheffield , i have a very very small cutting of tradescantia , i had it in water & then kind of neglect it & all the water dried out but it clung onto life & it’s STILL ALIVE! i watched some of your other videos about them & i put it in dirt last night. do you have anymore tips for it to thrive & grow better? you said water when dry correct? & indirect sun? ALSO, it’s so small it’s in a medicine shot glass , so i repot when the vines get longer or when its roots develop more? it has the tiniest root.

Me: sat here, wondering why my golden pothos hanging above my kitchen counter is going droopy and yellow 😢 Mr. Sheffield 🦸🏻♂️
@lynnstlaurent67896 ай бұрын
My golden pothos is less than a metre from my bananas. I buy organic which have a waxy paper on the stem and they ripen much slower. I wonder if that’s the difference. I just moved a little succulent bc the pothos is taking over the area. I also replaced my pot lights with grow bulbs, which would also make a big difference.
