I'd love to have 60 minutes with Matthew Sadler to pick his brains. I think he's one of the most interesting people out there with his finger right on the pulse. We're in the middle of a chess engine revolution right now and it's great to see someone skillfully articulating this. My only fear is that chess itself is running out of head-room as the top engines (on big hardware) now draw over 90% of games with sensible book lines.

The play quality is superb as well as the examples. And it's true, many people ignore these engine games are the best games ever in term of play quality. I even learned that Carlsen refered to computer chess as "rubbish".

Yes definitely - really need to get people's heads around the idea that the TCEC is where you can find the best chess on the planet :-) Yeah I've heard it said that Magnus said this, but I'm not sure it's true - Magnus is pretty discerning, he know good chess when he sees it 😊 He was also the quickest to absorb some lessons from AlphaZero games and reuse those in preparation and play... Best Wishes, Matthew

This is what is holding me back from purchasing the book: does the book have material on where to get the engines, engine settings, which are completely baffling to me, what I should have/want from my computer, etc.? And I have the Forward Chess app, which is nice.
