USdebtclock has 408 paper contracts for every ounce of silver now. I could just imagine what would happen if every one of those contracts asked for physical delivery.

The short side is JP Morgan, Citi, BoA, and Goldman. The Comex will change the rules before they are margin called or have to deliver physical metal. Book it. If it happens, there should be a class action lawsuit that ruins them. Of course, that lawsuit would fail because it would be in NY, where the banks own the judges.

What is the reason these banks have such large leveraged short positons on silver? Is it to artificially prop up the value of the US dollar? Seems like a highly risky position to be in.

My assumption is that it's to suppress the price of silver (and gold) in order to shore up confidence in the dollar and other fiat currencies. It would be risky, but they have the Fed standing by to bail them out if something goes awry.

Your analysis is similar to macro economist David Hunter who is calling for a global bust sometime in 2025, and the Fed response is to hyper inflate with trillions of dollars much higher than their Covid response. @@MM12684 If a bank is short paper, in the easiest way to cover that is the bid paper up and buy back the contract making them flat. Back when the Hunt Brothers tried to do the corner on the market, Congress had to step in and make it illegal to buy futures contracts. But you could still sell them so there was a bid but it did bring the bid down fairly quickly. In physical silver followed. I believe the only time the physical won't follow is in that one month. When most people cannot trade paper because it's too close to expiration yet those that are locked into contracts still have to deliver, And that's the spot can go higher than the futures

Essentially, the paper market will cease to function. No contracts on the buy side will be available. So, to counteract this loss during a squeeze, the big shorts will resort to buying physical silver. That is the only way to offset losses. I believe that is what he is hinting at. He is saying $200-$300 in an extreme case, which I honesly could see if the squeeze is substantial.

The ratio measures the actual amount of silver on the exchanges versus how much actual silver has been sold to the paper markets so the so the extreme ratio is telling the paper hands you’re never going to get your silver unless you sell now
