I'm not recommending investing in physical copper, partly for the reasons you described. I'm just explaining the relationship between the price of copper and silver. I personally prefer to invest in gold and silver.

I do have a 1 pound copper bar. It makes a great paperweight. I do have a few copper rounds that I bought for the artwork. The premiums on retail copper bullion are astronomical, so it makes it difficult to justify it as an investment, so if you’re going to buy copper bullion, just buy a few rounds that have designs that you like and enjoy the artwork. The whole reason why we make investments is to live a better life, and if having artwork gives you enjoyment, having it in the form of copper rounds is one way to go about it

instead of "synthethic silver" model, how about a regression of Silver Price = f(gold, copper)?

Yes, I can do that and will explore that more in the future, but I chose that synthetic silver model because I'm able to chart it like silver or any other asset including on intraday, so I'm finding that it's useful for performing technical analysis on and for confirming moves that silver makes such as breakouts.

I don't see that happening. Copper appears to affect the price of silver more than silver affects the price of copper.

How about silver having more in common with copper, than gold......these days. It is because silver is having more and more industrial uses just like copper. Soon we will be hearing references to "Doctor Silver".
