OLLI is 2 coloursso 2 overlaid hires sprites. The enemies are just 1 multicolour sprite each :) Because it's a budget game and the original graphics were in hi-res from a Speccy I bet to keep costs down the CPC and C64 used as much of them as they could for the backgrounds.

Always liked the Ben Daglish title music to this one, to be honest. The second screen is brutal, it needed the difficulty tweaking a tad to make it fairer, and it';s what makes the game not so enjoyable. As for the vote for the next game, has to be BMX Kidz, no question. Quite liked that first time round and still good music by Rob Hubbard (title tune) and Jori Olkkonen (high score tune) to this day.

Yes the music is pretty decent and arguably the best part of the game - just a shame it's only on the title screen as with most of these Firebird budget games. Thanks for the vote, looks like it could be pretty close between these two games!

I used to enjoy this, but I forgot how lazy the conversion was! It’s a fun little budget game though. It has a Trap Door feel (though that’s a better game!) can I plum for Cheapskate, never heard of either!

Indeed, it is a lazy conversion. The graphics have some charm (and do resemble Trap Door as you say) but I couldn't rate them highly because of the lack of effort porting them over. I didn't get much fun from having to repeatedly traverse the same screens over and over - it would have been better with more locations within the castle to give more of a feeling of exploration.

witchfinder1976 The reason that I rate this higher is for two reasons: 1) my view is heavily skewed by nostalgia and 2) I got this and loads of other games for free in a carrier bag from a friend who was upgrading to another system!

Remember getting very infuriated by this, screen 5 was the furthest I got without cheating. Stage 6 - from the skull, you jump left and drop down - then let the white thing go over you and jump left twice, then jump back past the bat. BMX Kidz next please!
