Thanks for having me back on! It's great to catch up and talk about the latest projects, especially when it results in a new shopping spree for even more parts.

You two both have excellent voices for radio and narration which makes listening a pleasure. Content is grand too.

Thanks for another interesting chat. I would recommend Mint Linux for someone used to Windows. It's straightforward to install, and easy to get familiar with the UI. Best thing about Linux is you can try different distros until you find a favourite; I have mainly gone for Mint if I want a desktop, and Ubuntu server (without the GUI) if I want something to work in the background like Node-Red, MQTT and file sharing across my network.

I got my first guitar around 1974 or so. But I continue to describe myself as "roundly incompetent on a number of instruments".

Create an environment where 1000 flowers can bloom, and..... they do. This can be frustrating for both developers and end-users. But it's a fundamental emergent property of a totally-open ecosystem. There's no such thing as "The Linux Operating System", rather a bunch of very-closely-related operating systems that use many of the same core elements--the kernel, many of the utilities, and a broad selection of desktop environments and applications and tools. It is at once its greatest strength, and its greatest weakness. I encountered Unix-type systems in 1979, and I fully admit to having been a bigot about them since then. I've been a developer in my professional life on Linux, Windows, and various other Unix-type systems, but I'm always less likely to want to chew my own leg off when I'm "home" on a Unix-type system, like Linux.
