This is a great channel! I spent years at university studying a music production diploma, degree and masters. Plus I’d already been at it for many years before I went to study. Since graduating I got sucked into work, started a Family, moved house and country many times, changed careers, joined many new bands, started many new projects, have had to overcome many personal challenges that life has thrown at me, so I’ve sadly but naturally lost a lot of the knowledge and skill I worked hard to gain and achieve. I’m in the process of relearning a lot of this stuff, not that I’ve been completely out of it, but I’ve been more focussed on guitar, drums, keys, sound design, video editing, game audio, audio for moving image, VFX, gigging etc etc. This channel is a blessing, it’s one of the best quality channels I’ve come across for this subject. The way the information is presented is very much in line with my studies in music school in London where I had industry legends as tutors. The manner, the language, the examples, the points of interest, the metaphors are enough evidence for me that this dude and the other guys involved with this channel are a cut above most other mix and master tuition channels. Once you’ve studied at a deep level and have gained a certain amount of knowledge and spent enough time around industry professionals you can tell the difference and separate the pros and the amateurs, you can tell by how they talk, what they talk about, how they analyse, theorise and philosophise etc. I’ve probably explained, expressed and worded this message terribly! My excuse is I’m exhausted as I’ve been up all night trying to fix a mix and ended up massacring it! 😂 Hence how I found this channel! I’ve definitely improved the mix in many areas, but I’ve overcooked it in some places and have introduced new problems! I’ll fix them tonight or tomorrow! 😅 I just watched the 23 pro tips vid too. It was refreshing to hear this kind of talk again, it was very much like being back at university. I knew most of what was advised but it was a solid reminder of many things I’d forgotten, and there was some new information in there, or at least new lenses on offer on which to look at things through. Anyway that’s enough rambling from me! I just wanted to show my appreciation! Thank you! I’ll be keeping an eye on this channel! Liked, subbed, shared! Greetings from Aberdeen Scotland! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🍻🌀🤘🏽🤍

Thanks to you guys I started ear training a couple months ago and have already had A TON of improvement from using SoundGym just 15 minutes a day. Feels like I was driving with a foggy windshield and only now starting to see the yellow lines. Can't wait till I can see the whole road, landscape and sky in 8k 🥳

Like the honesty that you have to just put the work in. I do stuggle with hearing eq etc and am going to try to do more. I also really struggle with refs - ie: just deciding what genre the stuff I am going is in - other than ( too broad ) pop and therefore what refs to use. Thanks

The dry vocal ' Scott lead vocal 1 ' sounds great! Would love to know what mic, preamp and other outboard gear was used.

I would love to edit mix more but OS Monterey mouse bug make me want to punch a hole through my iMac. If I down grade I lose songs that was started after the OS update.
