This was maybe one of the most relatable things I’ve seen in a very long time. You were basically mid thought and stopped midway to read to your son as if it was nothing. Moms are amazing creatures. Thank you for being real. Very refreshing! 😊

Love how you said please don’t comment about my kids cleaning up after themselves and about getting rid of their “treasures”. The problem I find is there’s so many of these little moments where I feel I doubt my parenting choices and this was just one of those moments where I felt so validated. Yes I don’t need to keep all my kids stuff. And no it’s not realistic that they will clean up after themselves all the time Loved this video simple yet what I needed. ❤

Omg this brings me back to having 3 little ones! The clutter and treasures drove me nuts. I learned to accept it though, because it was just a very short time in the big scheme of things. They are grown ups out on their own now and it went by so fast. It doesn’t seem like that when you are in the thick of it. You are doing a wonderful job!

And, if you were “some minimalist sterile house…”, it’s no one else’s business.👍 We all have to do what’s best for OUR own families, and that will look different from household to household. I love how KZbinr, Natalie Bennett, adopted the mantra, “Progress over perfection” It resonates with me and my perfectionist tendencies. You have a beautiful family, Kallie!🩷 Love, a homeschool mom of 4 in Texas 😊

This is just what I needed. I have been easily distracted when taking things to the rooms they belong in during cleaning and then get sucked into those spaces before I finished the first space. 😬 I never used to struggle with this...but I appreciate your methods to manage the clutter and using a bin to collect the things that don't belong instead of going from room to room without getting something fully accomplished.

You know... I made it a game Lets see if you can put all those toys in the toy box before the cookie timer goes off , woo hoo!!! Mom has to do laundry pick.up and strip beds , you get to just do toys so you will probably win!!! He would cheerfully run after it. I let him choose the timer- 10 min 15 min or 5 min.😂 Id let him win of course, except once when he got overwhelmed and sat down playing. 😂😂 but i still gave him half of my cookie.( lara protein bar) Then i found a small basket like they have in the groc store and he could carry more to the toy box so he got inyetested in that. And we would play music and dance.❤😂 you're awesome and got me motivated today😂❤

My biggest challenge as a mom to two was getting used to not having large blocks of time to get projects done and learning how to do things in small chunks. Looking back, not sure I ever really got a handle on that. It was a problem because I volunteered for a big non-profit and project deadlines would sneak up on me as I waited for that perfect block of time to get them done. Also had a pretty cluttered house much of the time, long before KZbin or organization as a big focus. I would go through a big cleaning and org kick a few times a year and it felt good, but most of the time we were just treading water, which drove my husband crazy, but I just felt overwhelmed. I think you're right in that once you get up to three and four kids, you just don't have a choice anymore, there are never going to be big blocks of time, or even very many small ones, you just have to get things done while the kids are up and about.

You gave me some motivation today to tackle some small tidy ups. With 3 kids, ages 5-8, and a mom with dementia, along with a home renovation, my house has been looking like an explosion. It is getting better. I'm going through my kids' toys because we just finished their bedroom, and I really don't want to put their gigantic toy box back in their room. They don't play with a lot of the toys and I need to move them on to a new home.
