The moment I saw the colorful chicken saddles, I started to laugh out loud. Because in my mind I was seeing a the snow covered ground being trampled by a flock of chickens dressed like old men in Hawaiian shirts. I just couldn’t stop laughing and the mental image won’t go away. I can’t wait to see the video. (And yes! I am planning to send it to all of my old male friends who collect Hawaiian shirts. It would be even funnier if the waddling ducks were wearing them. Then they would really look like my friends.) 🤣😂😎

One way to help prevent the chickens from laying in a variety of places is to avoid letting them out of the chicken coop until about three or four hours after sunrise. They also need laying stalls and they will use them but letting them out too early encourages them to lay elsewhere. It's what we used to do with our chickens all the time and we almost never found eggs in different places. As an aside, if one does that then simply wait until shortly after sunset and all of the chickens will also return to their roosting (chicken coop) place for the evening/night. We never had ducks or geese so I don't know about them.
