Something I do love about “Family Guy” is a lot of episodes have that cinematic flare to them. They can parody at a level other animated sitcoms can’t and it’s all thanks to the direction.

When Fox shows parody a Fox film. Of course, nowadays they're all Disney properties. Never thought we'd be living in a timeline where Disney owns the rights to "The Poseidon Adventure".

First saw "Poseidon Adventure" and the 2006 remake when I was 14. The original is such a great disaster movie (love the music as well) and the remake is still pretty intense. Prefer the Simpsons parody IMO.

For the Simpsons it is the final part of "The Wettest Stories Ever Told", season 17, episode 18. As the other comment already wrote, the Family Guy episode is called Yacht Rocky. It is the first episode of the 18th season.
