Lisa's performance as Ophelia almost had me in stitches. Yes, a lot of scenes from the original play are skipped and the order and causes of deaths were altered, but it was an entertaining parody nonetheless. Now I wonder what became of Horatio in this re-imagining?

I didn’t even know this episode existed. I had my own idea for a Skakespeare Simpsons episode and didn’t know it had already been done. I’ve always loved how there’s so many extra layers to the jokes in here. “A Viking” may be a modern noun, but “a-viking” is a verb to describe the raiding by Vikings. Or how it was Laertes who wounds Hamlet with a poisoned blade in the play, so Hamlet dies shortly after avenging his father. But in this, it’s instead Hamlet slipping on Laertes’ blood that kills him. Stuff like that.
@CJCroen13936 жыл бұрын
I would comment on how creepy it is to cast Bart's sister as Hamlet's love interest, but then I remembered that Horatio was more of a love interest to Hamlet that Ophelia ever was XD
