The HUGE advantage Road Rage has over Crazy Taxi was the inclusion of a two player mode. Crazy Taxi desperately needed a multiplayer mode and Road Rage proved how fun it could have been.

I think you hit the nail on the head. I loved this game as a kid because it was The Simpsons and because I hadn't played Crazy Taxi (though I knew this was a knock off.) I think having it be simpler and easier was good for a kid. There must be some consistency behind where your passengers want to go because I remember finding two in the first level that I could go back and forth between indefinitely.

Yeah it’s definitely more approachable for a younger audience who can’t grasp the high level play of Crazy Taxi. And now that you mention it, I definitely noticed a pattern of passengers too!

The only thing I remember about this game is that my cousin thought it was the greatest game of all time and I laughed at him for it.

Road Rage and The Simpsons Arcade Game got me into the show. And before the sequel, HIT & RUN came out, Road Rage was this odd obsession that I couldn’t stop playing even after finally discovering the game it ripped off. While it lacks some of the challenge in getting extra cash like Crazy Taxi, I do sometimes prefer the slippery driving compared to the former. I beat RR to 100% completion and Krusty’s dumb rating scores still make me laugh to this day. Between you and me though, Road Rage on Game Boy Advance is miles better than the console port. I won’t say check it out immediately, but it’s food for thought. 😉

I didn't know this was a Crazy Taxi ripoff, I thought it was a GTA ripoff, granted, I never played Crazy Taxi.

I've always wanted to give this one a look, and I still will, but it's really helpful to know that there isn't any advance tech that made Crazy Taxi good. I'm honestly shocked that they didn't add in those. It really seems that EA just did a shallow rip off from Crazy Taxi, and I wish the reviews at the time had pointed that out - they always said that it was just a "Crazy Taxi clone" and I now feel like that is too generous to this game.

I am still trying to figure out how I was allowed and GIVEN THIS GAME BY MY PARENTS but not allowed to watch the simpsons at the same age???? Like...I can play the game but not the source material?

Same here. My guess is that the characters don’t say anything inappropriate or sweat like they would occasionally in the show. Like a Simpsons Jr. if anything.
