My grand-parents and parents don't talk shit about their country, but they know well about freedom of speech, camps, etc. On the other hand I understand that If gulag would fuck up my family, they would call it hell. My grand-grand father, who fought in ww2, was stripped of his property after the revolution (two cows or so would considered 'too rich'), but other than that it was alright, good free education, one of the best in the world, free medcare, they lived and worked as geologists in Romania, Cuba and Kazakhstan, got a house from government as young family, got a car. You can often hear from old people, that if you got in troubles back in Ussr, your country can give you help, a place to live, work, med care, education. If you are in troubles now, you fucked. I saw a lot of memes about US, that people don't die here because it's too expensive for example, but somehow people don't flee in millions from here. Or do they? As I said, life is the same everywere. All has it's + and -.

It's so not, it's unbelievably overrated I'm afraid to say. Yes, the jokes are great, but this is the show that started lazy, visually unpleasant animation in animated sitcoms. Family Guy, South Park and King of the Hill followed after. There is no appeal, no exaggeration of movement, no arcs, everything is evenly sized and spaced, they are all the same exact color, the backgrounds are colored without any imgagination or shading, and somehow it all costs millions per season to produce this garbage. The only things it has going for it visually is good character design.
