Probably because it's being done by someone who has a decent comprehension of the games mechanics (case and point the fortune teller) and doesn't play like a complete moron. Like all these other people trying to be "funny" but ending up being complete cringe instead.

@@cjdj315 among others yes. No one is gonna deny sims 1 is/was a hard game. But with all expansions and a reasonable understanding of game mechanics (shouldn't be hard to acquire with a little trial and error) you should do fine lest you deliberetly try to suck at the game.

the only thing I know about Sims 1 is that it was so hard when it came out that my husband (who is 6 years older than me and was not a grumpy 16yo at the time who already didn't want to do their own chores, let alone virtual ones) refuses to play the series ever again at all.

You deserve a huge dislike for that comment about the Sims 1 music being depressing. Its the best music in the entire series.
