Ahhh Sim 3.. where the colour tones are colourful yet not too cartoonish. Things and objects actually have proper texture and no loading screens between every lot. And graphics were more realistic looking. I want Sims 5 to look like this but improved.

Sims 3 and 2 will ALWAYS be better than 4. people only like 4 cause of the cute "graphics" and all that crap but in my opinion 3, and 2 is way more realistic..4 gets boring really easily without custom content and mods.

The sims 4 graphics are good, but the clothes and items in the game aren't what people like, it's the cc. My sims 4 folder is 30gb of cc and mods. But for the sims 3, I barely have any cc (just a few jeans and crop tops, along with custom worlds) and no mods.

Exactly. I remember being highly disappointed in The Sims 4 graphics when it was first revealed. It felt like I was watching a kid’s version of The sims lol. Give me Sims 2 or 3 graphics anyday.

I like 4, but it gets so BORING! I hate the gallery too all full of boring blonde stepford wife / Barbie/ uncanny valley female sims! Ugh!! Give me 3 with its imperfect ordinary sims any day- sims 3 can be pretty without being perfect!

The only real reason why the sims 3 is famous for running like shit is that it's optimized for computers from the 2000s (which weren't even powerful enough at the time to run an open world sims game), so it only uses like 2GB RAM at most and doesn't fully utilize modern computers. Some people keep saying that the sims 4's neighbourhood style is better because of that, but any modern computer released after 2015 or so could run a completely open world Sims game completely fine, assuming it's running on a good engine instead of whatever Maxis keeps using. unrelated but i hope the sims 5 has an option to move the character directly, like the Wii version of the sims 3

I agree. The Sims 3 also happens to be optimized for one CPU / core. It will use others cores, but it's not optimized for them. The 2GB limit is outdated information. In 2011 The Sims 3 was made LAA (Large Address Aware) so it can potentially use up to 4 GB (though it crashes around 3.6 GB). Another reason the game struggles to run smoothly is that it uses your drive (HDD or SSD) as virtual memory. Since the game was severely limited in the RAM department, it had to constantly cache to your drive and since drives are slower than RAM that creates a bottleneck. I really hope the team developing Sims 5 takes advantage of our modern technology to bring back the open world of The Sims 3. I too would love direct controls similar to the ones in the Wii version. There's actually a mod for TS3 that adds that feature, though it has limitations.

Idk why people say the sims 3 is laggy. I have all of the packs and custom worlds but my game never lags unless I have it open for 6+ hours at a time. Meanwhile, the sims 4 is SO laggy and takes almost an hour to load because of the mods and cc I have in the game.

The Sims 3 isn't laggy if you have a PC powerful enough to run it. You do need an SSD, but in 2020 most PCs come with an SSD so it's not a big deal anymore. Other than that, you may need to update the GraphicsCards.sgr and GraphicsRules.sgr files since EA never bothered to update them to recognize modern GPUs. I have no lag with either game and I also have all the packs in sims 3, I have all the expansion packs in sims 4, but not all of the game or stuff packs lol

Same here! Sims 3 worlds take ages to load but once loaded it’s perfectly fine. Sims 4 with the mods needed to make it good, lags like hell now for me. So damn annoying.

Use Seasons + Supernatural ( U can make multibreed supenatural+ elixirs can help too much also this pack addes many food recepies as well ) + Late night and Island paradise if possible then Into the future too

Alot of people are playing Sims 4 saying it runs better then Sims 3 saying Sims 3 was too laggy. But I have been playing Sims 3 on laptops and computers and never had lag issues and I have been able to max out my graphics settings and it runs fine .the only pack I had problems with when it came out was Sims 3 island paradise .that one lagged but all other Sims 3 expansion packs ran great.sims 4 I just can't bring myself to playing it feels like my Sims traveled back to Sims 2 toon town where if you play long enough you might see Roger rabbit 😂😂

Sims 3's performance issues are obscenely exaggerated. It runs fine on most gaming PCs. Of course, if you try to play it on a potato, performance won't be great, but that's to be expected. There are some worlds like Isla Paradiso that are a little bit laggy, but it's nothing that cannot be fixed with 1 or 2 mods and some patience.

To Be honest, I play both 3 and 4 on the same pc and sims 4 lags like hell now, I have 3 with seasons, showtime, generations, late night, and several stuff packs plus mods, and the lag is minimal thanks to NRAAS!

The sims 3 é tão clássico! Tem uma essência familiar tão boa, me lembra as cidadezinhas da Inglaterra e o povo de lá também 🥰 diferente do the sims 4 que é extremamente atual, cheio de modinhas atuais que eu não suporto, parece que foi criado pra fazer sims blogueiras, super moderninhas. Os sims masculinos são objetos igual os bebês, não fedem nem cheiram. Tudo é muito superficial. Parece que foi um jogo feito pra se viver uma vida de instagram, cheia de aparências e futilidades. E esse sistema de emoções só veio pra cagar com tudo, deixou os sims frágeis, instáveis e descontrolados! Não pode dizer um "ai" pra eles que já ficam todo bravinho, pisando forte quando não ficam bravos ficam andando que nem derrotados com aquela cara de bunda. As opções de traços então! Sem comentários! Fico muito feliz que não gastei 1 centavo com esse jogo. Já pro The Sims 3 dou meu dinheiro com todo o prazer pois sei que terei um excelente retorno.

Sem contar que esse sistema de emoções é super quebrado, tipo, um sim acaba de presenciar a morte de um ente querido e ao invés de ficar triste ele fica inspirado ou confiante por causa da decoração da sala, o sistema de moodlets do the sims 3 é mais simples mas pelo menos funciona

This is why u should also use supernatural so can make potent invigorating elixir no more sleep needed for 34 hours once drink and sleep , also yos far better then sims 4 and this looks like just base game sims 3 , even then it still much more entertaining

The graphics are pretty good for a 2009 game. The Sims do look a little bit clay-like, but the environments are gorgeous.
