I'm the eldest of 4 with my youngest sibling turning 11 this year, and I remember when I would babysit I'd carry her EVERYWHERE! My thoughts on the open world is that, since the sims 4 is much more limited in what they can do, maybe an open neighborhood would work better. This will hopefully get rid of the problem from the sims 3 where all lots were empty, and it would still give us an open world experience

The funny thing is, almost everything as far as furniture and landscaping can be visible from other lots, even through windows. There isn’t a need for a loading screen to go from your house to the one directly across the street. They should’ve made it to where you just simply walk over to the next house, and everything loads up in real time so it can be interacted with. The open neighborhood concept is “sort of” a thing already with the little playgrounds and fishing spots dotted around some worlds. Only problem is that for this new world….the areas are very boring with not much to do despite being so large.

I’ve experienced the “chomp” glitch and the infant stretching out glitch without Growing Together. I kind of feel that making us spend another $40 for features to use a “free” update reminds me of my 11th grade health teacher warning us that drug dealers would give us a free taste so that we’d get hooked and spend all our money on drugs. Even more so because infants and the pack were promoted together so the update alone was a bit underwhelming

The funny thing about "chomp", even when it doesn't glitch, is that it's an action in the bitten Sim's queue. So you could just cancel it and not get bitten. Even better was canceling "Stung!" with the bees in Seasons, you could just go "No, I don't think I will get stung" and the bees would leave you alone. I agree with you about the Sims trying to get players hooked, but in the case of Growing Together specifically it didn't work on me. I see buying the pack as paying 40 bucks to make my game a heck of a lot harder (infants need to skill build and can't do so on their own, you can gain counterintuitive traits way too fast, the Compatibility and Confidence statistics can really screw up a storyline) in exchange for a few cool new items and a few fun lots. No thank you.

The only problem I have with the stay over mechanic is that they seem to ignore their needs. Idk how EA coded it, but TS2-3, any invited Sim will behave accordingly to what motive needs to be pushed into the green unless it’s deemed “inappropriate” by the game (thus Sims leaving if they’re too tired or if your Active Sim hasn’t cooked anything). Like it’d be cool if their fun need is going low if they automatically watched TV or went to sleep instead of staying up for hours or going to sleep at 4AM lmao

the large visitor family thing happened to me, and it wasn't even relatives. it was just a friend my sim made through the welcome wagon. he was living on a 20x15, too! also "think about family member" is a parenthood mechanic--if someone's the type of simmer who has never had a teen age up while living with their siblings or caretakers, they can go entire years of gameplay and never see it.

Don't get me started on bugs with this EP. My sim infant Ezra or Cora needed a bath and my sim matriarch picked them up, bathed them for like 10 sim minutes and took them out and put them on the activity mat thingy and the kids were still blowout diapered. This happened like 3 more times before I tried to make a YT short of it but whilst doing the short the damn sim finally did what I asked. So I couldn't expose her on her glitch sadly. And I have a bug where my sims don't want to do laundry cause there is no option to turn the washer or dryer on cause why not add a little more stress to the 100 baby challenge by making my sim do laundry. XD.

That chair is definitely a response to our complaints about high chairs - my advice: Don’t have one, even for aesthetics. Your sims will try to use them and by use, I mean put the baby in it like stocks (not the kind you get rich on, the thing they used to put people’s arms and head into for punishment) and leave it there alone without feeding or caring for it. They will stand by and wave their arms around aimlessly while you get a workout 🏋️‍♂️ on your mouse or controller slamming it, trying to make them take the baby OUT of the -medieval torture device- high chair, also aimlessly

2:01 "Are the devs okay?" This just proves that people don't tend to read item descriptions in TS4. A LOT of them are written in a similar style to that one, or tell other jokes. Looking at the base game fridges in order of price, you get an involved monologue about "crispers". A lot of the high end basegame furniture tells snippets of stories about someone named Princess Cordelia. More than half of the item descriptions I've read give a similar vibe of "responding directly to in-game customer feedback". Kindermade is an in-game brand that's featured in the basegame as well as I think Toddler Stuff.

I feel like it was just too late the organizing the conversation menu. At this point however many years in I’ve finally gotten a hold on where everything is and now they updated it and I have to relearn what’s in each category.

I just downloaded the new base game update today and got Growing together, and my first hour of game play was.. interesting. Moved in a family, and all but one of the kids were sad on spawn because they "weren't the favourite", then my neighbour showed up for the Welcome Wagon and she immediately thought my Sim was swell and wanted to be best friends, then she wanted to move in on the same day (thanks, but no thanks!). The day after she wanted to stay over for a while, I accepted because I wanted to check out the feature and she just wouldn't leave for days and would bake white cakes like crazy, they were everywhere. Couldn't get her to leave either because there was no event to cancel. Then I got my Sim a new job and immediately she got the Ambitious trait pop up, I was like what is happening to me? 😂

Ah yes, the stretch baby. I found it quite funny when I first saw my infant walking with stretch syndrome. (I have base game infants and no mods)

As a mother of 3, I do have to say that I have had to hold a baby while on the toilet. So, for me, that glitch is really realistic.

this is actually really funny bc the horrible wildfires that burned down countless homes in southern california in 2020 was literally caused by a gender reveal party gone wrong
