Use MC Command Center if mods work on multiplayer. There’s an option in the settings where friends can sleep in the same bed, if I remember correctly.

What platform do you stream on? You could get a sales table & one of you could do sales on your residential lot. Have you checked to see what items you have on you residential lot? If you have a toilet, shower, desk & chair over there you could repair the computer & sell the loo & shower on the commercial lot. Swap the trunk & the stereo over.

It wasn't that random... on the first voting system that led to the laundry day stuff pack, the sims team introduced the concepts for eco lifestyle and off the grid and they had pretty high voting... which meant that people actually wanted to see those features on the sims 4. And that was how many years ago?
