I've been but I never end up doing the pack specific stuff like herbalism or bug-catching. Part of that is probably the fault of Seasons... the rest is just me going "Right, what do we do? Oh, we go to a cabin for Christmas and almost get our toddlers taken SHIT ABORT ABORT SAVESCUM THE KID BACK!" 😂 I've successfully done Too Many Toddlers but before they gave us the option to buy toddler items or carry them in our pockets, I would either edit Granite Falls for tots and pets but then never visit or I'd FORGET that I hadn't edited that particular save and then go there, be pissed off, and leave lol. It's kind of nice aesthetically and great for just mucking around in your Sim's hobbies but you really do need to want a tent or spruce up the empty-ass cabins, especially in winter! (Tip: add a telescope on a rental lot; that could be fun.) I've yet to actually visit Selvadorada and I feel bad because 1) those rentals DO come with toddler items if you're lazy and 2) I always meant to do the archeology stuff, it looks fun, and I wanna build a museum through a Sim like Semaj did, but I always get caught up in other plans. NEW PLAN any next gen kiddos who reach teen are gonna be in college for archeology! Yeeessss. (I just gotta stick with it.)

They could of made it better by making an open-feeling world to explore. Everytime I visited Granite Falls I hated it because of how cramped it is and how close you are to other camps/lots and lights. I feel if this pack was made in recent years it would feel a lot better, as it is right now it feels like all you can do is sleep in a tent, tell stories, and roast food by campfire. I've been thinking of ways to improve it: -Give us trails to hike/walk with family like in Snowy Escape -Give us a lot to fish at with ponds, possibly including a higher chance to catch fish of higher quality since it's a vacation world -Give us ability to do woodcarving outside at a stand and at higher levels the ability to do woodcarving with a chainsaw (I know you can already woodcarve in Sims 4, but it'd be cool to do it outside at a more natural feeling stand) -Give us a portable microscope that sims can take and set up 2-3 Sim hours to set up (1 hour or less if your handiness skill is fairly higher) -Give us critters and animals to catch, not just bugs, and sims can buy terrirums for their animals. Some animals would be exculsive to Granite Falls. -Allow us to take pictures of animals in wilderness and provide a summary of animals upon photoing them -Do not just put animals behind a rabbithole -Allow Sims to prank other sims by putting bugs in tent and scare squeamish sims with critters you pull out of pocket -Give us a new mountain area where richer sims can live and that feels secluded -Add rowing boats and pedal boats -Add an archery skill (not hunting though) -Make world much bigger - the current world is way to small and cramped, the national park looks and feels like a small crowded mess and the camping grounds feel too

They could’ve made this SO Appalachian. Like canning (since this was out way before cottage living), wine making, some more herbs for herbalism, and an extra instrument like a dulcimer would’ve been Perfect! Some things I wish they would add to outdoor retreat: tents propped up around with other sims going in an out to use them and having the ability to go prank those tents like scare them or steal something from them; a new "tent" type that's actually an RV or an RV lot that can be lived in or rented; a livable lot of any kind would be nice; some more things to do at the hermit's place because that area is very empty, just tons of empty space; I'd be very down to have more herbs to gather, maybe not even new herbs, but more in quantity to find because with seasons it's very hard to find in-season ones to gather - honestly a problem with all the worlds

If they're going to start refreshing packs, I think OR could do with an update. 1) Add new plants that really can't be gotten any other way. I set a sim with the outdoors ambition and she already knew all the plants and couldn't finish the "identify unknown plants" part. 2) Add more camping activities. I replay Jungle Adventure a lot because there's always stuff to do with a new Sim and I can set up camp on the trail, but Granite Falls doesn't have enough activities to keep me interested. White water rafting would be cool as one of those rabbit hole "Choose your option" pop-ups (can't imagine they'd want to animate that). Or have goaled events with camping activities to complete that could be signed up for at the camp information boards. Or have a nearby site that has rowdy Sims that your Sim yells at (or vice versa). It would make it more interesting. :D

I LOVE Outdoor Retreat. Oh, not for Granite Falls, although I think it's beautiful. My sims have only been there a handful of times to forage for collectibles. But for all the camping gear. I literally use it ALL THE TIME. In nearly every save. I've created a national park build that I place in every save on the Summer Home lot in Windenburg, to give my sims a woodsy place to get some R&R; to fish, swim, and pick Granite Falls harvestables I planted in the garden. Every rags to riches save I do starts out with my sims living in tents, using the campfire, etc. I have campsites placed around the worlds for my sims (on beaches in Sulani, in Sylvan Glade and Forgotten Grotto, in the big parks of Oasis Springs & Willow Creek). I probably use items from Outdoor Retreat more than any other pack. It's not just about going on vacation in Granite Falls. It's about all the STUFF. :)

Potato skins have the exact consistency of a wet band-aid and you'll never change my mind!

I guess this pack's target audience must have been... just me! I take almost EVERY single sim to Granite Falls for a few days: gathering herbs, fishing, collecting beetles, eating those beetles. Good times! Possibly my favourite pack after CL. Totally hits my own Special Interests though, I think that's why. I get in from finding mushrooms in the actual woods and send my sims out to do the same!

It really is a fun pack. That camping ground is empty because you're supposed to bring you're own camping gear: tents, cooler, folding chairs, etc. So it's a fun camping experience. The ranger station has camping gear. I believe Outdoor Retreat is when Herbalism was introduced so there's a bunch of stuff there for that too.

I used to run a sims tumblr blog and this was my favorite pack to take my sims families out and take pics but like… if ur just playing to play it’s not fun at all… it’s very aesthetic but also there isn’t much to play through
