Recently, there's been buzz about an early version of The Sims 5 for PC and Android leaking online. The official trailer should be out very soon.

​@@sdafc888 Objectively it has a strong artistic direction as it is very recognizable, and this esthetic choices also make it light to generate. So how it looks is at the same time a big part of its identity and also its functionality. Liking it or not is purely subjective.

@@Bloodysugar I suppose if you don’t want realism in your game graphics then paralives is something you’re going to go for. However, I don’t like playing games on a gaming pc that has an expensive graphics card in it that looks like it’s been drawn by a five year old

@@sdafc888 If your 5 yo kid is able to draw as nice and clean as Paralives graphics are, then invest in some artistic education for him, he will become one of the greatest artists ever. ^^ Jokes aside such games are usually played by people that are not much into spending a lot into their PC. Just like The Sims, Paralives intend to be playable on many low end PC. Personally I prefer realistic graphics, and aesthetically I'm way more attracted by Inzoi (although when it comes to fun it seems to be shallow AF). But like most people I don't have enough money to drop into a 4090 to get 30 FPS at best in one game while my 2070S provides 50 to 100 FPS in any other ones, Cyberpunk included...

Yes! It would make more sense for them to keep the fans happy and milk the nostalgia aspect of it because we all like nostalgic stuff lol They could even add cool early 2000s fashion or play on all of that but I guess they’re not as creative as fans. So, the plan for Sims 5...from what i heard here might be. To use Sims relatable analogy, "we will give you house foundation for free but the walls, roof, utilities ,furniture, decorations and residents are paid DLCs". Honestly EA, i did not expect anything less or more from you. I am glad that you still going strong in your campaign of chasing away the customers.

The sims 5 will have 500+ dlc. We have over 74 and counting with sims 4. I stopped playing after sinking hundreds into it. The sims is dead the franchise isn’t the same. I’ve been playing sims 2 for a few months now, way more character. I’m looking forward to supporting EAs competitors as soon as possible

EA and Maxis have lost touch with reality when it comes to the Sims franchise these days, they continue to stay with the Sims 4 rather than moving on to the Sims 5. There is something very wrong with this company, they are not themselves from when the Sims 2 and Sims 3 was the Sims franchise at it's peak. Folks, sadly we are witnessing the fall of the Sims series as a whole, this is not good at all.

the whole 'free to play' thing is the main reason why I am staying away from this 'thing'. In stead I have my eyes on something different at the moment. Which could drop somewhere in this year or next year. And it isn't made by Maxis/EA. I find the timing of all of this quite odd though. A trailer from a different sim game drops. And all of a sudden news about the sims 5 starts to spread (you call it buzz.. yeah well no wonder because there is trouble on the horizon and you know it ;)).

If you played anything by Unreal you are 50/50. Conan: pay for aesthetics (like we do for Fortnite) Medieval Dynasty: Single player pay for game & enjoy. Conan made me have to be group/crew dependent plus server operators with Ivory Tower syndrome. *Stopped playing when my crew leader began getting messages about certain placement of building items due to preventing spawning of important items. Yet same server operator built in places that we require access to specifically spawned items. Depending on what happens this may end my Sims playing experience. 👩🏾‍💻

"Free base game." "Freemium models." Bruh, there is still such a thing as a FREE DEMO. Play a free demo of the game to get a feel of it to decide if you wanna buy it. But remember this is EA we're talking about. You said yourself that the revenue would come from selling extra content. Knowing EA's track record, all I'm expecting is a skeleton of a base game so they can price gouge you for features that SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN THE BASE GAME and new gimmicks that are mid at best and game breaking at worst (and that's not even mentioning that the Sims 4 regularly has to be tuned, fixed, and expanded upon by the modding community) If they actually cared about making a good game, they'd make sure the base game could stand on its own as a fun experience. Hell, shouldn't that be the standard for games if developers wanted to add dlc?! I know not all game companies are the same. Some care more than others/arent as greedy as others. Its just sad to see potential get squandered over and over again for a quick uptick in profits.

I just installed my sims 4 game after years of not playing it... everything is gay now. pronouns, men getting pregnant... I immediately uninstalled it. If I could I would get a refund now. why did they change the game... this should be an option to install. Why are they trying to appease less than 1% of the population by forcing this on everyone.
