You can't find anything about Chemistry or Dates in the prima guide, because the prima guide only covers base game content. Chemistry and Dating were only added in the Nightlife expansion pack. Similarly, Reputation (what caused Trent Traveller, and all random acquaintances, to have the power to hike up the prices on everything on you) is a system only added in the Apartment Life expansion pack. Also your sim definitely has no eyebrows, he lost them a while back when you messed with his age. You can restore them in a mirror if you wanted to... I just thought that it was intentional, to make him more uncanny.

Reputation and networking was introduced in Apartment Life. Depending on how you interact with other sims, you'll get either a good or a bad reputation, and your relationship can give you ether benefits or punishments. One of them can be more expensive furniture 😁 It only lasts for 72 hours though, and there is also a positive one that gives you cheaper furniture, and that one is permanent.

@@MayLina of all the neighborhoods, Strangetown had the least time with the developers so it tends to run better. My earliest memory of playing the sims 2 as a child was having a family of 4, the dad going to work and being so preoccupied with trying to keep the other 3 alive I never realized he came home. Autonomy was off. He died in a puddle of his own piss on the sidewalk

Totally going to read my game guide now. I started with sims 2 as a kid and i had it on the family computer at my dad’s house. My mom always thought if i had it on our computer we would get a virus. Thanks to Sims 2 for helping me through my anxiety growing up.

Now we finally know why Kevin dyed his hair blond! He just wanted to fit in at the hot tub party 😆

I'm glad Kevin and I had the same hyper fixation game as children.

Back in the day you had a physical manual to go through while the game installed, which very often wasn't fast, especially with Sims 3. I read that manual back to back. I probably still have it.

I don't know Kevins own sexuality, but I love that his characters always have a "I don't care" attitude to the gender of their partners!
@piercedsiren Жыл бұрын
To be fair, it's very much in the genes of Sims to not care about genders. Few games let's you date so freely.

When I was little I always had lesbian couples and used men only to procreate 😅 because I thought women are more beautiful, and I enjoyed playing them more. Well, now I grew up and understood everything 😂

The childhood story with the Sims 1/2 is genuinely relatable. I remember being small enough to literally beg for each pack I got for the Sims and doing chores specifically to earn them. The wait between packs made any speck of information mean the world
The fact that he followed the guide and it still ended in death and despair.

I remember me and my cousin played this game and we just started out and my cousin was like well my character is a little hungry so he made food and I was like yeah might as well eat too and then as soon as my character took the first bite he choked and died and we just started.

My first time playing Sims 4, I spent like 3 hours making my character and starting house, and then the very first action I did, I tried to make a grilled cheese sandwich and burned myself to death. >.< LOL within like 10 seconds of starting the game.

I actually went and collected all the Sims 2 guides recently! I love game guides haha. When I first got Pokemon Snap, I got a pack thing with the Nintendo 64 cart and the game guide. I didn’t get to play right away and sat at my dad’s workplace, which was a CarDealership. I remember locking nyself in one of the showroom floor cars and pretending I was on a pokemon safari, and the guide was my “safari guide” and the cartridge was my camera. Really good memories haha

Kevin is like a chaotic god; the last think you want to tell it, it to 'follow rules'. That's how people die horribly to genie's wishes.

I owned 5 of the sims 2 game guides and they were read so much that the books were creased and worn, and crammed with post it notes and bookmarks. That was our go to source of sims information before the internet was affordable and being able to search for anything became easily accessible. God I feel old lol
