Oh, right, I parsed this completely wrong for a second and was so confused. It's not that there are new custom urns, but rather that the bug where they didn't drop if the property they were supposed to appear on wasn't actively loaded when they died has been fixed, so you can actually collect them again if you want like Simsie does to add to her ever-expanding graveyard (which is increasingly more graves than yard 😂). Not as a game-tracked collection but just for fun :P

I would argue that lactose intolerant should be a toggle and vegetarian should be a personality trait. It's also weird to me that vegetarians get sick after eating meat, instead of upset or disgusted. Perhaps it would be cool to add other allergies too.

@@RainbowFishSaysHello Well, some people are not vegetarian due to ethic/moral choice. Sometimes it's due to health, which is what this seems to imply with the getting sick part. So I sort of wish we had actual dietary/health related things vs choice traits. If you choose to be vegetarian or vegan, for instance, it should be a tense or sad moodlet because they're unhappy, not something illness related. Maybe they're give us a food allergy update in the future, lol

A way better way to give out free stuff while still rewarding players who play the game is just keeping the event going indefinitely and make it more like "here's a bunch of permenant achievements and their unlock rewards". As soon as a player completes one of the objectives, the item unlocks. Like career rewards just without the ability to unlock via a cheat. So if your account is linked, it unlocks an achievement or something and then rewards you. This way it doesn't leave players out who can't play during the event and then misses out. (Like me lol who has a severe disability and can't play at the moment.)

I'm (hopefully) getting a new computer early next week or this weekend so I won't miss out on this event - unlike the last one - but man, do I hate this. That’s the point though. They want to make this limited so that they could get more people playing the game at once and get people actually feel that obligatory feeling to play, cause it makes players excited to be a part of something ‘limited’. Sometimes they just can’t cater to everyone and you just have to accept it. 🤷🏻‍♀️ (Plus, if it’s only to hype up a new expansion pack, there’s no reason for them to make the timeline infinite)

@@alyssa7974 or, what I personally think, it's to ramp up the numbers so that they can say the game isn't dead yet, X amount of people are playing! Even if it's just for 10 minutes. It could help with extra funding or something like that. I'm not sure, but making mandatory log in stuff for a cozy game that many play to loose track of time and that I know many people play like once in a half year just seems scuffed. The Sims should be timeless, yet with those events it makes it feel dated and not like an alone standing timeless game like the Sims used to be

When i got to the end of the update post and saw the new items + items that got new swatches i GASPED at how long it was. But 650+ new swatches is still insane, i was thinking around 100-200 when i saw the post. I have all of the expansion packs and all of the game/stuff packs, i also use cc religiously but this is still so amazing. Im happy base game players finally have more build items and swatches.

Those colours were added to the basic counters and cabinets in the Cats and Dogs update to match the vet items, I think they are showing that the whole matching set now has them (finally, they're the best swatches that aren't black or white imo).

The drape curtains, especially sized up, is one of the only curtains that I have to use that can fit over curved or rounded windows, like the big windows from castle estate kit. So having more colour options is great!

I'm not surprised the Sims team didn't do anything for their 10th birthday with how much people bitched about the hot tub, also completely forgetting that they also gave the game away for free on console that day. Plus I constantly see people saying "We don't need this, fix your game!" So a laundry list is what we got. People are mad if they get something, and mad if they don't get something. I guess you can't please people sometimes.

Getting here after reading the update, the added swatches and new times are great! The only issue is that the new swatches brings up the argument that we should have a color wheel in the game; additionally; we are reminded of the frustration that sims 5 will not be replacing sims 4 with better features (like the color wheel and open world).

The open world is the thing I most wanted to come back from the Sims 3. I don't think there's any way to add it to the Sims 4. I so miss being able to send a sim running all over looking for collectibles while another studied at the library and a third potty trained the toddler. I miss it so much.
