It wasn't long ago that the Sims team was trying their best to pretend Kevin didn't exist on Twitter, and now here we are with a dedicated DLC named after him. Real growth; brings a tear to my eye.

After delving a little further into the Sims content creator community...while Kevin is far more unhinged then most, sadistic mayhem seems to be an inherent part of playing the Sims. No matter how wholesome the person, they all inevitably get angry at one particular Sim and decide they need to die. Creating drama between Sims, up to and including ruining someone's life because things have been too boring, happens often enough that I wonder if it can be used as a comment on the duplicity of human nature. I'm glad the Sims team is finally acknowledging the darker parts of our nature that Kevin has been slowly indoctrinating us into accepting. One day, God willing, they may even add the ability to barbecue a baby. ETA: Oh, and just as a side note, in the expansion that was about owning real estate and being a landlord there is a pre-made tenant that looks suspiciously like Jim Pickens. The Sims team adds lots of little callouts to their most popular creators, they're very connected with their community, so I wouldn't be shocked if someone made Jim, but couldn't explicitly link him to Kevin for obvious reasons.

​@booknerd1896 Ah...I don't play the Sims, just watch other people play, so I had to go searching the wiki. All I remembered was people in the comments of someone else's video pointing out that a tenant looked like Jim, and when I eventually saw them I was tickled at how close they looked. Unfortunately this search has led me to find out the traits of that Sim have nothing to do with Jim. The tenants name is Steven Pawn, and since he is A) the highest tier in the Writing skill and B) literally labeled "secludedwriter" in the game files, he is definitely a Stephen King reference (Pawns and Kings both being chess pieces too.) However, his appearance and last name work well enough to be a Jim reference, so I believe it is acceptable we continue to gaslight both ourselves and the public at large that Stephen is a Jim callout. Perhaps this will annoy the Sims team enough to include an actual Jim Pickens callout one day.

I would argue Jim didn't actually kill anyone this time. Anyone freezing so much they actually turn blue and still not go inside or put on their clothes have no one else but themselves to blame. It isn't like Jim had them jump in the pole and got rid of the ladder up (I remember him building walls around the pool a few times as well). His restaurant poisoned the entire neighborhood. He killed so many people, but I don't think there is a single case where he could be arrested here. The only law he broke was the law of physics when he swam in the floor.
