It goes deeper: Sims 2 for GBA includes not only an actual alien invasion by this despot named Emperor Xizzle but an adult version of Tank who's also a disabled war veteran (this being Sims, the "disability" is an injured "funny bone", but still).

I've seen somewhere the history of supernatural things in the Sims series, and there was something along the lines of according to chronology of the games the status of vampires, werewolfs, witches etc was changing game to game, so like in the Sims 3 the supernaturals are pretty much a common sight, right? And in the Sims 2 you have to deliberately do things to come across supernatural things, and in the Sims 1 there is a small town of magic, outside of which there are no supernatural beings. SO WHAT I'M SAYING IS that it could've very well been a war against supernatural beings...

I just realized, the reason for the heavy military presence in the Sims universe, even near tiny towns, might be the horrible things that wreak havoc upon the world as seen in the Simcity games. Not all aliens are as peaceful as the Sixam ones. Hell, there's even a zombie virus that sometimes just breaks out again. AND THEN there's the Autosaurus, which absorbs cars into itself to survive. So that's where all the cars went

2:00 Actually if you check the Grunts' memories, they distinctly remember Buzz and Lila divorced, which probably led her to move in with Olive Specter, who may or may not have murdered her. Also I think he doesn't hate the Loner family and Kristen Singles/Loste. Does he hate the Beakers? I think Buzz's family was of a long line of military brats sent to investigate the alien presence in StrangeTown since PT9 has been impregnating the Curious men since Buzz was a toddler(and Lola and Chloe Singles/Curious not being older than their half-brothers, not to mention a week from old age Jenny is a whole other problem). So my headcanon answer? Aliens. They were fighting aliens. Also in my headcanon, their division began with Nestor Caliente's abduction, though Flamenco's human appearance led to the pollination aspect of the abduction to go unknown until StrangeTown. Or perhaps it was because in Sims 3 aliens could literally invade and destroy a bunch of lots. That's not getting into the StrangeVille, taking place in an alternate timeline, there's a mind-control plant. Who knows if whatever made the timeline different decided that instead of having green humanoid aliens occasionally whisk some men off and reproducing with them, they had plant aliens take a more literal approach to pollination? Could there be a war between them? Perhaps the thing used to repel the green aliens in S3 is what caused the oil shortage, which made the greens undercover in Sim society, knowing the military is preoccupied with the real threat - the mother plant? And they've used all fossil fuels to contain this to StrangeVille only? Also as a SW fan I think SimPlanet is some unknown regions blot mostly uninvolved in galactic conflict until a chance encounter around 40ABY had rocket scientist Sims find a way to another recently-discovered world, Batuu. To protect the population of SimPlanet, Sims were instructed to never let anyone from Batuu find their coordinates and perhaps use a Force adept to Force Cloak the whole planet, resulting in the stagnant utopia of the Sims game. Or at least Sime 4, perhaps the alternate timeline is merely being part of SW when Sims 1-3 were not. Or maybe they were part of Legends? Is Sims 1-3 Legends continuity, while 4 is canon? Oh my God, that makes so much sense!

These videos inspired me to reinstall the Sims 2, and even though it's obvious how old the game is, I've had a blast revisiting the families. Sims have so much personality, particularly the teenagers (Sims 4 could never), I love their little animations and the stuff they do randomly sometimes (like teens playing with the fridge's door, that's so simple yet fun) or the fact they stare directly at ME to complain when I ask them to do something they don't wanna do.

I’m sorry for rudeness but Ripp kinda sucked up to Johnny just to spite his father General and his older brother, and Johnny manipulates him as his puppet just to stay closer to his rivals and know about their secrets, watching for brothers’ rivalry with a sadistic pleasure. Why do I think about it? It’s simple. Ripp is the middle son of the Grunt family. He’s weak, stupid, childish, whiny and envious. Yes, he has charisma and charming, he’s kinda ladies’ man, but he doesn’t have any qualities like Tank or even young Buck. Tank is strong with muscles and impulsive while Buck is strong with brains and calculated. Ripp has nothing of that. He easily catches under someone else’s opinion, he conflicts with his strict General father and older brother not wanting to join the military and is ready to do anything to spite them. Johnny who was raised by Pollination Technician 9 Smith, his tricky father hiding his essence under the mask of a true family man and kind old alien, feuding with the Grunts and successfully competing with them (so successfully that he even won a fight against the future General which Buzz didn’t stand, which didn’t forget and didn’t forgive him), continues to value the traditions of his family. He hates Grunt’s oldest son, Tank, and their hatred is mutual, and Ripp just sucked up to him to gain some attention to him. And Johnny sees how Ripp conflicts with his brother and father, and skillfully manipulates him. He sees and knows that Ripp is the breach in the armor and the weakest link for the Grunts. He’s perfect for weakening their enemies. And he is ready to do anything to spite his father and brother, as long as they don't touch him and he doesn't go into the army. Tank doesn't like it, he doesn't like the way Johnny influences him, uses him for his own purposes. He doesn't like the fact that Ripp literally acts like he’s his lackey or he’s his servant. I think General Buzz, Tank, and perhaps even Buck regard his behavior as a betrayal. And for them, the main rule is: no one dares to go against the Grunts and no one will get away with it. Yes, General is not an angel of the saint, he has many triggers made by his career, he acts mean but feel inside he loves his children. He can’t just show them his true love because of his military obsession. Yes, he doesn’t like that Ripp is lazy, but he allows him to do so. And yes, it’s impossible to impose his wish to his kids, everyone wants to go on their own way. But he’s ready to do anything to protect his family and the planet. The question of safety is very important to him. His paranoia and suspicions about aliens were absolutely right. Especially when they abduct male sims, make unknown but violent experiments on them and plant a surprise inside of them as alien kids. It’s not good because aliens forcibly break natural biological process against male sims’ wish and they introduce their own kind. PT9 did the same thing before he retired and took the masking surname Smith, especially with Glarn Curious. Alien invasion in Nintendo DS version of TS2, their invasion in SimCity or their violent actions in TS3 where they scan objects and sims and they even can a meteorite attack killing innocent sims clearly shows that General Buzz Grunt was right. And believe me, General will never be a fool, dancing on the string of all these big shots, mad scientists or alien king or queens. But instead of that he wants that one of his sons hold all these strings and managed them. Just imagine: Senator Grunt, Governor Grunt, Mayor Grunt of something like that. I’m sorry, it was too long but I should have been to right this long.

I like all characters in Strangetown (Johnny too even if I think he is was probably the stereotypical high school peaker) and I understand they all had their problems and difficulties,so I don't blame anyone but General (for being absentee from his children life even with his wife alive and having a fake "golden child" who still ignores at best) I understand that on a certain angle General is right (seeing other linked games) but as much as he loves and protect his family, it is unjust to ignore your children and treat other aliens (Smiths, who has shown to be good people) as enemies just because of the outer bad apples all in all I agree Johnny probably is using Ripp- altho gotta say Ripp wants to hook up with Ophelia whenever I start a new save with the Grunt family, and Ripp is always the one who picks on Tank first... I always have to be on edge and cancel his hostile actions xD

See, what you don't know is that the branch of military in Sunset Valley is actually Space Force (yes, they were ahead of their time), which is why the astronauts report there. The war was against the plot of the pollination technicians, but it didn't work (the Caliente Sisters, for example). It was also to find other planets (Lunar Lakes). The aliens were attracted because of the advancements in technology at the lab...all those weird experiments. But what had happened was, due to the unstoppable invasion in Strangertown (reported in the daily newspaper -which I miss), the military came to an agreement with the aliens, so, by Sims 4, everybody thought the aliens were just looking for a new party planet because Sixam is boring, but they really came to plant the Mother, thus Strangerville happened. Meanwhile, they are still holding weird experiments in the lab... and the MIB, working with S.I.M.S., are still covering things up. Talk to the weird dude in the kiosk with the colander on his head for more information. (But be careful. 🤫 "they" are always listening, watching)

The TwinBrook Towers fell so the sims Bush family could continue profiting off of corruption and oil in Al Simhara. Though the military career did exist in the sims 2 and since that's after 3 in the timeline that kinda falls apart.

Maybe it's just the Aarbyville-Tredony war from TSM. TS4 takes place in an alternate universe where the player just did the starter quest because it had the best QP to RP yield and faster platinum, and then never finished the war quest so it's still ongoing.
