I loved playing with TS1:V❣ Did you know that children have unique interactions with mascots? Mascots follow children around trying to get their attention. When they have their attention, they will try to hug the child sim (pretty creepy, eh?). If the child sim is in a good mood, the positive hug takes place, but if the child sim is in a bad mood, they will strike or kick the Mascot (now that child learned stranger danger appropriately 👏). Also, the reason you could not get your Sims to stay seated at the campfire, was because their comfort levels were too low (as expressed by their thought bubbles and comfort bars). Whodda thunk sitting on the ground is uncomfortable? 😜 If their comfort levels are high enough, they can roast marshmallows, sing campfire songs, and tell ghost stories (which may summon Green Beard the Ghost, scaring those around the campfire). In case you did not know, TS1 is the most risque and mature themed in the mainline series. Although, playing as a preteen, I was naive enough to think Sims were just trying to tickle feet when selecting "play." 😲

iirc that weird coin operated vibrating bed is as as risqué as OG Sims got? Whereas TS2's sims were visibly feeling eachother up & woohoo-ing everywhere! In the bed, the hot tub, in clothing stores, picture booths... you couldn't bring 'em anywhere 😅

@@fe5018 There were far more other aspects than woohooing (although playing in the vibrator heart bed, sims would get naked before entering, thus there was no ambiguity), like the dance cages, and the cakes with entertainers, which autonomously will flirt with and even kiss the adult sim who summoned them). Of course, the child sims being shooed from the room, but all adults remained watching and cheering, except perhaps a romantic partner who might get slapped by their romantic partner. After TS1, all the more lude aspects were removed, and "play" was replaced with "woohoo" that was completely more obscured and toned down to keep its teen rating. So, I reiterate, TS1 was the most mature in the series. If my mother then knew what occured in various packs (i.e. House Party, Hot Date, Vacation, Makin' Magic, etc.), as a preteen, I would have not been allowed to play most of TS1. Even the haunting sounds gave me nightmares, as those were also toned down a little in TS2, and quite a bit from TS3 onward.

@@TheMya1988 , I don't think the dance cages were that much raunchier than TS2 having Sims grinding on & all but humping each other with the "dance together" action. "Make Out" was also surprisingly hot & heavy. The TS1 adult entertainer in the cake was definitely pretty bad though 😅 I'd actually forgotten all about her!

@@fe5018 There were 4 cake entertainers, males: Chip the Dancer and El Viz the Dancer; females: Bunny the Dancer and Jane the Gorilla, with a small chance of the Tragic Clown appearing, ruining everyone's night. I was incorrect though, the dancers would randomly kiss any of the partygoers, which most often happened with a sim whose partner was in the same room. Also, there is the bear skin rug in Vacation, that is definitely risque. As for kissing, TS1 is the most difficult to get to the hot and steamy or I think they were called "fiery," as you cannot spam actions, and reactions are contingent upon mood and relationship (which can be one-sided, as only TS1/2 are). So, while in TS2 onward you can keep escalating the kisses and flirts, you have to break it up in TS1 with other interactions (i.e. tickles, jokes, chatting, etc.). TS1 sims get bored easily, so if you want to just spam flirts, you will likely see your relationship score plummet. However, you may not remember how passionate they could get, but they even would do so autonomously (another aspect to be toned down in the mainline series). TS2, sims have to have Romance aspiration to do any hot and steamy interactions autonomously (unless mods are installed). TS3 they have to have certain traits, and while you would think "Great Kisser" is one of them, I have tested it, and there were no autonomous makeout (of course TS3 has to get to alluring and irresistible first, which they near always autonomously go in and out of, breaking it up on their own). The only trait that did not require any warm up for autonomous romantic interactions, is "Inappropriate." "Flirty" and "Hopeless Romantic" can get the sim towards alluring and irresistible sooner, but Sims left to their own devices will go in and out (unless, we their dark overlords spam them). Not too certain with TS4's new EP (but autonomy and TS4 are near nonexistent for any worthwhile gameplay from what I have seen, and the little time I have played). TS1:HD and TS1:HP were banned from certain regions as too mature. Also, because of the mature level of TS1, TS: Bustin' Out had to label it with "Mature Sexual Themes," the only one to get that warning label. Another aspect to TS1 that is more adult themed, are the screams in death by fire, I can still hear them 24 years later (it stays with you, lol). I am curious as to why, you seem to find the cages for dancing tame? I could see it being okay if they were platforms for dancing, or they were created by a mod, but as a survivor of CSA, they trigger me now.

Vacation packs are always been my most favourite ones, I just always have a lot of fun with them! The Sims 1 did also so good job with this one, one small detail what I love is that how you can send postcards! I wish it could be a thing for other games too!

To this day I'm still not sure how my 9 year old self played Sims 1 back in the day. I have no memories of ever struggling to take care of them or it being so hard, but man as an adult in the current day this game is hard. I loved Vacation, though. It was always the beach destinations for me 😂 Sims 1 is still such a surreal experience but I love it.

My thoughts exactly!! Revisited it briefly after 20 years & I was shocked! I absolutely did not remember it being so difficult & stressful... Full disclosure though: I attribute a lot of it to having gotten complacent & probably lazy from constantly using maxmotives & other cheats constantly in TS2 in the 2 intervening decades.
