The Simulator Cockpit for DCS is NEVER Done - Evolution B

As the title says, the sim pit is never done. it was "complete" a month ago. But there are always areas to improve it. Some problems just need you tonthrow money at it.
Changes since last update:
- Dedicated PC ABS Legend with AMD Ryzen 7 5800X, Gigabyte Nvidia GTX 3080 Ti 12 gb.
- SimGears F-16 ICP (Italy)
- Realsimulator FSSB R3 Lightning with F-16 angle adaptor (Spain)
- MFD Screen re-orientation due to view angle (non TFT display)
- Phone mount... very important addition.
Some cable management and it is good to go for now...

Beautiful ! Please on your next upgrade get the Realsim f16 grip because the Tm warthog stick is going buckle through time. I have the RS R3L and their f16 grip and also the TM warthog Hotas as center stick for hornet and Tomcat. I love the RS product but you are really gonna need the stick too. Nice setup and thx fir sharing.

Now that you got the force sensing stick, I bet you'll get the Winwing F-16 throttle, once it's available. If you're commiting to F-16, go all in.

The winwing orion2 makes your landing panel 95% doubled which is kind of useless. The super taurus just has a bunch of buttons tou hardly ever use. Not worth the upgrade tbh.

$700 for the pressure base. Whew! Kind of sorry I recommending it, but I knew it was very good and if you have the money. My friend's wrist was hurting him, so he bought that pressure base and he was really happy with it. It inspired him into building a complete F-16 pit, lol.

Nice upgrade. Lots of food for thought for me. I noted that you moved you TIR camera position. Were you having issues when looking up, because it was so low down? Also do you wear spectacles, because you have a medium distance for the panels, and a more distant view for the screen. Or maybe the large screen compensates. Thanks.

Yes. I moved the TIR. It was too close and offset to the side because it would otherwise block my screen. Since adding a dedicated CPU, I had more flexibility to move it where it can see everything. The screen is where it is mostly because of the numerous cables from all the hardware. I'm keeping them as accessible as possible for when glitches occur and hardware needs to be unplugged.

Can you please make a video if you are planning on using Track IR. I really want to see the actual co relation between the head movement in real life for looking behind etc. the head to eye ratio

TIR is adjustable for its ratio of head turn to view angle. I have mine set to see behind me when I look at the left or right edges of the screen. If you set the ratio too small, you will have to turn past the edge of your screen to see behind. Then you will have to turn your eyes toward the screen. That is very uncomfortable. So I set the view to look behind with eyes looking straight (relative to headl) at the screen.

@@GDViperWorks I see. So basically you looking at the bottom right left corner of the screen = turning back. If thats the case then how sensitive is it when you are looking straight into the HUD or looking up the cockpit ?

@@methodchaining TIR has settings to "snap" to the center when I look that direction. It is less sensitive there and more when I turn away from center.

You can say that again... Never complete and that's part of the fun, lol. My simpit is a hybrid Civilian/Military (X-plane, MSFS, DCS), but I primarily fly DCS in VR (Aero) and rely on muscle memory for the physical switches, buttons and Hotas. Along with Voice Attack\Vaicom pro, it all works pretty well. If the Aero had passthrough video, I'd be in heaven 😂

maybe, you could lower the left and right mfd's and alter the lua files to accommodate on the left the compass at the top and right mfd to display frequency information.

BTW. Next evolution is larger screens for MFDs. Then I will add the RWR to the top of the left and DED to the top of the right. That will place all the most used information directly in front of me.

@@GDViperWorks Don't know what your using to port the MFD's information . Helios is an awesome app to use to do so. just configuring scripts real easy then you could use screens via vga/usb freeing up then your graphics card. Then allowing you to easily adapt the info with ease. id be happy to help out if required.
