Yassis I've never heard such a thick South African accent on a KZbin video before. LOVE discovering your channel! Keep up the great videos!

I've watched more than a few videos and this broke it down most simply and concisely. Porsche's perspective hasn't been laid out without them seeming like a villian.

Pretty straight forward Porsche is seeing Singer restomod their cars and saying i want that. Why would they keep allowing them to sell million dollar cars and not take any slice of that money.

bc theyre used cars

Cheers Chris. I always wondered why Porsche allowed them to do it, especially with the prices of Singer. Now they make some sick vehicles, no question, each is a gem. But how long will they let others do the same? Time may tell. I like Restomods, they are milking the buyers but they are willing to and have the money to pay. 👍💪✌

Ironically, it's the likes of Singer and other tuners who prominently display the name of Porrsche on their products. Ruf, who are the original 911 specialists and who exclusively enjoy the staus of manufacturer, to the extent that they use their own VIN series, DO NOT put the name of Porsche on their cars.

IMO the lawsuit was a setup. Otherwise, they wouldn't settle it out of court within a week. It serves as a roadmap for the whole 911 restomod industry, as how Porsche brand name can and should be used. Just look how GunterWorks website has changed - they basicly followed what Singer did. It is no longer a Singer, but Porsche 911 Reimagined by Singer. It is no loger GunterWorks Turbo/Speedster etc, but Porsche 911 remastered by Gunther Werks. I expect other 911 restomodders to follow suit to avoid a similar lawsuit from Porsche (Kalmar, are you listening?). It is worth noting, that Singer and Porsche relationship and very close. Singer is the only company in the world that gets the engines rebuilt by Porsche Motorsport themselves. I wouldn't be surprised, if Porsche bought a small stake in Singer eventually.

Porsche have developed/earned their excellent reputation over 60 years, and the likes of Singer use the porsche's 911 body/shell to sell their guised creations thats heavily borrrowing street credit from porsche. For instance if Singer were 're-imagining' the VW bettle or the Mini Cooper or an Alframeo I very much doubt Singer would be enjoying their current market share and reputation!

So I buy a Porsche and I'm not allowed to do whatever I want with it?
@randallbezuidenhout15056 ай бұрын
You can do whatever you want in modifying your Porsche but don't become a manufacturer and advertise and use the Porsche brand and badges to promote your business.Thats copyright infringement.

Porsche should work with them and create art that hasn’t existed yet. Thats what i would love to see. Stop fighting over moneyyy

You don’t think Porsche could make these cars if they wanted to come on man
@craigsmith13546 ай бұрын
I don't see a problem with it because porsche started it all .look at all their race cars they made they were all modified versions of their road cars ,Lemans, rally, etc.... .and it boosted sales too ,people bought them just by looking at their race versions. Someone got up on the wrong side of the bed that's all 😂.

Ruf build there new CTR looks like 911 but they had to change the name to CTR not Porsche Ruf CTR

ford and chevy allow kit cars to be sold, C10 sema trucks sell for 300k. Who cares
@Laguna20138 ай бұрын
not sure why you would need to get permission from P or anyone (other than perhaps DMV or similar agency) to modify any car you own

Porsche’s jealousy is understandable. Singer exposed decades of lazy, cheap inferior engineering. However, you should have zero say on what happens to a product that you sold. Audi/VW/Porsche should have taken the high road, celebrated innovation and offer a buyout/ stock swap/ investment into singer and allow them to be part of their own “AMG-like Motorsport “ program. The bitterness is not good business

"inferior engineering" ??

It is not a difficult situation. Singer should not make money of the porsche brand.
