@@MystFGO Well, credit where it is due. He's not Phantom, he's also not Jekyll. So the worst he could be is third worst in the game, but I do unironically think Kojirou is better than Vlad though. I've used Vlad a lot and, without Castoria, he's very much so lackluster. Perhaps Xu Fu helped get him a bit more up to speed though, but before her he was incapable of NPing every other turn without Castoria or a miracle, nevermind every turn. That was a complete and utter pipe dream that you would be more likely to pull off with Kojirou. Seriously, Cu is better than Vlad. Heracles is better than Vlad. Mozart is better than Vlad. Mata Hari is better than Vlad. Kagetora is better than Vlad. Xu Fu is better than Vlad. Chen Gong is better than Vlad. Medusa is better than Vlad. Blackbeard is better than Vlad. Robin Hood is better than Vlad. Bedivere is better than Vlad. Theseus is better than Vlad. Mashu is better than Vlad. Proto Cu is better than Vlad. Babbage is better than Vlad. David is better than Vlad. Mori is better than Vlad. For crying out loud, _Vlad is better than Vlad._ All of those units have more value than Vlad. There is more reason to use them, they contribute more to the team, and they scarcely hold the team back. Vlad scarcely does not. That is the definition of bad. _Berserker Vlad is a liability more often than not._ The one and only function he fulfills is a vessel for units infinitely more valuable than himself, such as Castoria. He can be a tool through which you channel their power, *that's it.* In other context, he only holds the team back. He is a garbage unit that just so happens to have ungodly synergy with absurdly valuable units. But even then, what he does, countless others can do and do better. Seriously, play the game using only one to three stars, except Berserker Vlad. I did it for two years, but you try to do it for even two events. Not a 120 Vlad or Class score, either, just level 100 and his appends at most(Class Score can warp the perception). Then do all 1-3 star for another two events. Tell me how much better than going full 1-3 star the Vlad trial was.

Paracelsus isnt a launch servant. He was added in London. Nero, Phantom and George were the other launch arts DPS units though they didnt have the bad scaling like Vlad and Medea(Euryale was in the files but she wasnt summoneable until Okeanos came out) Paracelsus is just worse because he came in after two whole main chapters and various events had already gone by...

I’ve always kinda treated Berserkers as a “filler” class to use until I get a more specific/niche pick to replace them with in more specific situations. I don’t think they’re “bad” so much as a class meant to fill in blanks. The more niches you have covered and filled, the less you’ll use them.

I think like you too. Like, I never use a berserk against a lancer no more as I do have plenty options for sabers, which usually do better with less effort put into team building. Unless, that is, they're mixed with other classes

I’ll kinda have an idea in mind of who I should use first, but then will just be like “yeah I want to use X here so I’ll see if I can make it work,” which almost always ends up being fine too. Plus efficiency aside I’ll probably just use NP5 Summer Castoria on everything anyway unless I literally HAVE TO change my comp.

Not sure if others feel the same but I also find that already having a bunch of super strong servants allows me the freedom to just roll for whoever I want regardless of quality. When I first started playing I played with whoever I wanted, then when I got meta servants I stuck to them, now I’m funny enough back to playing with whoever I want(being an “experienced” player probably helps with that too)

I actually find that I have a hard time justifying bringing anything but my berserktoria when its so easy to just slap black grail on her and brute force through 99% of quests, but she's definitely the exception rather than the rule.

I feel this way too. 99% of the time I just brute force the fights with my NP5 Morgan. The other servants only get use time when she fails. Will try to NP5 Berserker Artoria when she comes to NA because of how ridículous she is.

I mean, the same is true of all top-tier AOE berserkers. It just makes more sense to invest in getting NP2 morgan (or Summer Ibuki, or Berserkstoria, or even Musashi though less so) than needing to roll one or more copies of an SSR for all seven main classes.Sure, there are other alternatives for omniloopers but only one of them actually gets a damage mod, meaning you often need even more investment in those. And Vlad is straight up the best ST looper in the game available to most of us. Most of the servants I use with any regularity are those I've been lucky enough to roll two or more copies of, but I still use NP1 Vlad all the time because he consistently produces better refund than any other ST character I have, which is a good trait in a boss fight or challenge quest that is going to last a while, and the standard berserker weakness matters less with a couple layers of Anti-Purge Defence up. If given the chance of Nero Bride - hardest hitting ST Arts Saber - and Vlad to fight Enkidu, I know what I'd pick.

Problem is that we don't even have good single-target for every type of scenario, that's when Berserker shines, even after all those years the free NP5 Jalter is carrying alot of accounts, Vlad is one of the best Loopers in game that received buff after buff and the list goes on

I really wish berserkers had class damage appends instead of the crit resistance they currently have. That would give the more boring berserkers (especially lower rarity ones you probably have a lot of coins for) at least something to differentiate themselves with. It would also make it feel like you have a reason to use X single target berserker over Y single target berserker in different quests, as a lot of them feel almost interchangeable.

Galatea's still my favorite servant. She loves me back, too. Got her to NP4 with only tickets and dailies, and she even spooked me once. Couldn't recommend her enough, especially if you have Reines, who in some cases can even get an invincible comp going with her and Castoria.

So basically Berserkers are carried by their class and some having special damage mods or have the ability to abuse CE and supports to raise their damage potential more than their skillset are actually good unless you're Galatea Literally the most braindead gameplay with really little value but people like me are too poor and can't even get hands on better ST units with a specific class that would be a better replacement in the situation I am in Gotta get my bingo card ready

Man isn’t the most common trait. It “is”, but in terms of enemy nodes, 99% of the time you fight against earth. Go into any node right now that isn’t super low level, and you’ll find earth enemies. Earth enemies are any monster, man enemies are any human mobs, and sky is like doors and hands. That’s about it.

As you said, they're mostly a filler class, meant to cover for situations where your account would normally be doing neutral damage. I use my lvl 100 NP5 Nyalter pretty much every time I have to kill an Alter Ego boss because I don't have any Pretenders on NA. She's also done some work on Pretender bosses (granted we've only had 2 so far) because my only Foreigner is Koyan Dark, who I didn't have yet during LB6. Even on Assassin bosses, she tends to do as much damage as my NP2 Xuanzang while having MUCH better crits. Granted she's Quick, so she doesn't have the Vlad problem of "just" being an NP bot and can crit a lot more reliably. My lvl 100 Kiyohime, on the other hand... She's really not aged well AT ALL. She needs an NP buff badly just to be decent.

Just as a heads up the reason the video was taking so long to render was the spinning animation in the background of the video for the talking interludes and overall flashy movements of the gameplay. If you have something that is constantly moving like that in such a way it messes with how the video renders and takes a much longer time to finish. There is a lot of technical mumbo jumbo to explain that but basically movement has a TERRIBLE impact on render time. Most videos that get published are general stream/gameplay videos without a whole lot of movement that affects the entire screen. If you want to have a 20 minute video not take an entire day to render consider using static backgrounds during chat interludes and less flashy bits of gameplay.

Oh boy. That got rough for Vlad after a while. But you are right. He has managed to hang around despite power creep and some wild shifts in meta supports. But it's a good question to ponder. AOE is fine. Summer Ibuki is obviously a monster. But Morgan is insane for so much content too. Single target really needs to keep pushing in order to keep up. And then they release someone like Draco and that changes the whole picture!

As someone who has been blessed/cursed with vlad since launch, and has gotten np5 over the years (all spooks lol), i'm unironically at the other end of the spectrum. Often, i have no reason to use any other ST damage dealers over him when it comes to CQ's. He'll always work with castoria and is able to refund without any problems, which only a handful of my servants from the main classes can do, and even then they'll probably be doing less damage depending on the NP levels. I think you were little bit too harsh when it comes to him, or at least it came off that way, since he still pretty much does what all the other arts zerkers do.

Vlad's typically the reliable and low-floor, high-DPS way to put a team together that can 3T any 90+ content with 6 drop CEs .....until some unreleased servants show up in the far future. Castoria-Vlad-Filler_Arts_AoE-Castoria is the simplest reliable option and veterans likely already have him at NP2. Worth pointing out damage niches usually can't apply to both single target enemies at once so servants that rely on that can end up lacking. Whether it's 3-1-1 2-1-1 1-3-1 or 2-2-1, as long as you pick a good filler like Spish or S.Kama, this comp works for anything at the 90+ class. So his niche is literally 'Entry level 90+ multicore team'. I think he really comes in handy for me. Thanks to him I can be so lazy when it comes to farming.

@@Ottobean Gen Pool anything is passive and by endgame you can accumulate about NP3 by current on a boomer account depending on which one keeps showing up. He's even a 2X ticket option if you really wanted to only need one spook. For needing 2X NP, Ryouma, Shiki, and Kage (Chloe is surprisingly rough on reload) struggle with charge especially when if we're talking meta you are looking to 6s no starting charge. Gacha luck could give you Galatea, which would also be fine, but Vlad has been out longer for passive accumulation on a nearly decade old game. Max Heph is about the same output on less expected spook/ticket investment but she has a shorter timeline, especially in EN. If you're talking about CQs, then yeah he's trash at any NP level and gets clowned by welfares with proper counter class but like the game is 99% farming.

I'm not F2P on JP, it's been playing for like 4 years now, and I've gotten spooked more by Galatea than Vlad. 99% of the game being farming is also bullshit unless you're a degen who believes farming 200+ boxes per lotto is required. The story in total takes several hundred hours for an average player to read, and then there are a lot of quests people get stuck on because of difficulty

The advantage Vlad has is higher NP level. After the 3rd time he ganks you in someone else's banner, he usually does more damage than other ST berserker.

When I'm against a lancer, I select my sabers, berserkers and extra classes. When I'm against casters, I look into my riders, berserkers and extra classes. I'm not Min Maxing... I'm having fun and sometimes, even if its not as effective, it's *fun* to send Vlad to Kazikli the Bey outta someone. Or for my Grailed Bunyan to stomp on a mf. Simple as.

I've been rocking Morgan and she's my favorite Servant now, she makes farming easy so I can grind events easier and she's great on most story quests that don't have a boss but even then if I can kill something in three turns then she is my best opinion. I understand that Berserkers may not be the Strongest but I still love Morgan despite the class weakness so while this video is correct I'ma stay on that Berserker train

Very good video. Honestly my ST needs are solved by my lvl 100 Salieri and my 120 Van Gogh, while aoe is resolved by 2 kaleidoscopes, 1bg, arcueid, and boyager with salieri sprinkled on top

Vlad is a very strong and consistent farming unit to this day, the emphasis on his competition having a bunch of CQ utility is a bit misplaced. Vlad is not, and will never be a CQ focused unit (unless if they buff him again). He will never be the best unit for any given situation, but unless if you are a leviathan with every unit in the game (or have a higher investment copy of another very powerful ST Arts looper), it's easy to find value for him.

I got no problem roasting Vlad because neither of his form ever pop up when I roll on banners he's on, but his damned daughter consistently pops up to the point where I have all Liz's currently available at full NP. It feels like the summoning system is saying something.

Only time I ever bring my ST zerks out are for interludes or story missions, cause I can't be bothered to look up which class is mob or boss. Typically brute force through every fight until I hit a brick wall I can't punch through.

Completely agree. With how the game has been progressing over the years berserkers are being less and less viable outside of TA/minturn runs. CQ enemies tend to deal more and more damage and I noticed during teslafest last month that even neutral servants struggle to stay alive for more than 2 turns in some cases and with berserkers the entire thing has become very binary. They either take damage and die or they don't and survive, which means heavy investment in terms of support just to keep them alive. Of course there are exceptions like the ones you mentioned that excel in their niches or have some other unique mechanics that makes them worth bringing along, but for someone like me who prefers playing normally rather than min turning, most berserkers (especially single targets) have little to no value at the moment.

Only berserkers I have are Lancelot and Frankenstein. I just wanna get Lancelot to level 100 and then ill probably stop leveling him (He's lvl 95 at the time of this comment). My strongest servant currently is basic Ishtar with my best Saber being basic Artoria from the special summon after clearing Fuyuki. The class I have most of is Lancer if you can believe it. For me, Galatea is the most failure of the Berserkers released soo far. Yeah, we all pick on Vlad because Delight Works apparently was soo afraid of having ST and even some AoEs Arts NPs bringing back too much refunds that they gutted the NP gain of the likes of Kiritsugu and Caster Gil as well, but Galatea lives in between two different worlds. She's a Berserker with triple Buster cards and an Arts NP, which means you either bring double Koyanskaya for those sick ass buster crits and Squarepants NP hits at base value OR bring double Castoria for those sick refunds and NP damage and her face cards are just "eh"... or try to run one of each and be middle of the road in everything. And the worst part is: She had to be buffed IN THE VERY SAME YEAR SHE WAS RELEASED! I don't know what speaks more of a failure that Galatea is: That she got forgotten as soon as a Year One Berserker who got pretty much everything stacked against him by the developers got a buff, or that she had to be buffed six months later to compensate her weak ass skillset.

In what world are you taking Koyanskaya ever for anything that isn’t minturning or farming? Galatea is mainly for challenging content, and her skill set isn’t weak at all. Debuff clear each turn for 3 turns for the whole team, buff resistance removal, a way better defence skill than Vlad could ever dream of (30% def on a berserker lol) and a ramping effect on her spammable NP and consequently a spammable drain. Vlads skillset is way more generic and lacklustre in comparison, his 2 guts is effectively a 1, his 30% def is useless, his np effect has 20% arts res down (countered by Debuff immune or debuff resist which is not at all uncommon) and is after damage. For what’s its worth, I like his star bomb on his NP, but I find myself having way more uses for Galatea then I ever do for vlad. The debuff clear is the most crazy part of her kit for me. Her deck you can say is a bit mismatched but that’s why she got her buff.

This whole take is weird honestly, Vlad bad because there are better units? ST powercreep is a thing and it's problematic? Welcome to gacha. I think the only thing I'm cross with is the way it comes across. Shitting on Vlad to me is a take that results from playing and/or paying for so long that one forgets how it is to not have all the options. It's like a conversation where one tells the other that he now got a decent car that takes him to work and everywhere and is comfortable and save to drive, serves well with enough care, to which the response is: "but there are better cars. " that response is the take on Vlad in this video.

Yeah overall the vid seems a bit tone deaf, considering how mediocre some free4* are even at Np5 nowadays having a single silver bullet 5* zerk will always be viable. Specially if that mf can refund 60-100% each single NP like Vlad or has a random chance to stun like Kintoki.

I mean Vlad is still good, even Otto thinks so, but unless you really like Vlad, in challenging content, why take the riskier servant if you have better options? If he had a niche or two like Galatea he’d be seen way more favourably

I can guarentee. None of my ST Berserkers do anywhere near as much Damage as my NP4 120 2000/2000 Sheba Will be NP5 when that new SR ticket comes

So I have a single target berserker that I use all the time... For like... if I don't know what the boss is gonna be, and I don't think they'll be enough of a challenge to warrant me trying to class pick against them. Kintoki is here to farm embers, is what I'm trying to say. He does little else.

I mostly just use st zerks for either farming when there are very conflicting 90+ classes like saber and archer or having a ruler. Rare to get any use of any other one besides sololing heracles.
