It’s not weird it’s just how the Sixers develop there rookies. They fake an injury so they can develop where they lack. I mean look at Ben and Joel both of them went down with season ending injuries only to have them come back stronger, quicker, and smarter at there game. They put them through 2 years of training focusing on key aspects of there game. By them doing this they come back next season and dominate in the nba. I find it hard to believe Markelle would change his shooting form that got him damn averaging 25 points. The real conspiracy here is the Sixers training staff not Markelle.

Righteous1 True, getting a shoulder injury can definitely make you rusty with your shooting. even when it's fully recovered. Hence, the fact you shouldn't do any practice what so ever. Because every time you shoot it hurts your shoulder and could even make it more worse.

Exactly man, hey you can't blame them, they tried to warn us. This is the "process at work". Coincidence that every top draft pick they get redshirts their first year? They even drafted a couple they knew wasn't gonna play their rookie year(noel,joel).Also who changes their shot just cause of injury? You don't, unless there a game 7 tommorow. Why? So he can change it again when he gets healthy? In todays nba the team that drafts you doesn't really benefit once they're stars they will leave anyway. 76ers stockpiling till they know they're ready. In return they get a "real look" and will still try to get the kids the best deal and really try trading (okafor) rather than just discarding them if things don't work out. They also benefit a whole years worth of training camp and debuting with less UNREALISTIC expectations. Maybe, im being paranoid but being a boxing fan I've seen stranget things
@robertshuxley6 жыл бұрын
it's part of the 76ers rookie contract to be injured the 1st year
@eliasscimeca97276 жыл бұрын
TBH, it's probably a combination of pain and his mental side. I injured my throwing shoulder when I was 12/13 really badly from pitching on a tired arm. When I tried to play again my sr year of HS at 17, there would be days I couldn't throw a ball. My target would be 15 yards away, I'd spike the ball sideways, sail it over his head, it would jet towards other players. For no reason, later at practice I could throw to a target no problem. Same thing happened when I would throw warm ups to other players in the outfield. Injury and baseball aside, if i get to into my head when I'm playing basketball; I can start to deconstruct my form too much, kinda like what happened after my baseball injury. I tend overthink and underestimate when I get like that. He's probably feeling a lot of pressure, can't blame the guy he's pretty young.
@JTM-Hunts6 жыл бұрын
Elias Scimeca this is exactly what happened to me. In a way I should say. At the begging king of every baseball season, I’d go from pin-point accuracy, to not even able to get close to the man I’m throwing to. In warmups, I’d spike it, throw it ten feet to the right, over his head. I to this day, can’t throw a batting practice. I can pitch with minimal problems, yet can’t even lob or fire a strike in BP.

its from a motorcycle accident he hid from the 76ers, in which they later found out, but let the story stay out of the spotlight. fultz needs to come out and state he is injured and how, then get the proper treatment for it. if he keeps doing this BS where he doesn't say anything about it, then he will not be in the league.

It was not a motorcycle. It was a BMX bicycle accident. Markelle is an avid BMX rider and does tricks. One of those tricks got him hurt and he tried cover it up so he doesnt lose all his guaranteed money. The 76ers eventually found out but also covered it up because they dont want lose face or more potential trade value for Fultz. But Fultz trade value is rapidly declining now.

Yeah, except the reason they didn’t play in their respective first year is because of injuries, and they don’t want to rush them back. So training them for a whole year is just dumb. Rarely do first year players make that much of a difference their first season. And the best way to develop players is game time playing... so what you’re saying makes no sense

There's no injury he's redshirting he's rookie season like every 76ers top pick. They still trying to get at least 1 more lottery pick, but they assured the fan base tankings over with process gm hinke out and with a new gm whos notorious for not rebuilding (colangelo,i think),hes pretty good at reloading though. Maybe the owner wants more insurance before spending more on the team they already invested a lot in. The kid is upset he got thrown under the bus but the coach couldn't say anything that could upset the fan base. Why would you change your shot when injury is only temporary. Its fake news man and they're clearly not on the page in what story to say
@raiderbro86636 жыл бұрын

It’s all apart of the 76ers plan. Every year the 76ers get a top prospect and then gets hurt the rookie year. This is the year where the sizers make the players go through “The Process”. The process changes the players and makes then 5 times better than before so the next year they are great. Markell will not play this season but next season he will be back and better than ever and fixed. Next year the sixers will be great and all the players will be healthy and amazing.

As much as people blast him, i'm about 99% sure I had the same exact injury on my shooting shoulder. It's a mix of rotator cuff and labrium issues. Not a complete tear but partial. Anyways, I injured mine 11 years ago (about same age as Markelle). After months of therapy, to this day it still ain't right. Shooting can actually be painful. Rotation of the shoulder is not free and fluid, but rigid. Its hard to explain, but in Markelle's defense I can understand how frustrated he is and the lack of confidence. I'll shoot 3 shots in a row at times that feel great, and just when I get in a rhythm - boom - next shot I tweak it, form is all jacked up, release is awkward, it hurts, and I put up a goofy shot that is off 2 feet (complete airball). It messes with your head big time. Consistency is almost impossible, and that affects your confidence. WITH THAT SAID, this dude gets paid millions of dollars to work on his shot basically year round. I simply made up my mind that I was gonna change my shot and alter it enough to at least make me comfortable. I still have the random airball here and there every night, but I just shake it off and know its out of my control if my shoulder gave out, and I move on to the next shot with confidence. On a given night, if I can shoot in the 40-50% range i'm happy. I think Fultz 2 biggest problems are 1) Confidence and 2) Comfort. U can tell both are completely lacking when he shoots. I feel a little bad for him cuz I can relate, but bottom line is he needs to suck it up, get to work developing a new comfortable shot, and get his confidence back. He can figure it out, if he doesn't itll just b sad. He's still young and he can still ball. He needs to adjust his game and his shot to highlight his strengths. And usually I would never say this, but he can't shoot the way everyone else wants him to (with ideal form); he needs to simply get comfortable form and a comfortable release. It may look a little weird, but he'll get his confidence back and he'll start making shots. If he tries to shoot with correct form, he's gonna keep running into the same problem - his shoulder simply don't work that way anymore. It sucks but it's the truth. And for those wondering, surgery won't fix it. With surgery and / or therapy, at best you'll get back about 70% mobility. I know from experience. He's gotta make the best of it. I hope he does. If not, it'll b one of the biggest busts of all time. Unfortunately.

Nice point man, but when do you think fultz suffer this injury? There is a weird timeline between 2017 summer games and the training camp.
@justkeepcasting6 жыл бұрын
@@GOlone9597 hard to say and I have no clue. I injured mine weight lifting. With your shoulders, it can b the dumbest thing. A quick movement mixed with a bad angle, and boom u can have a bad injury. Could've fallen awkwardly and fell on / put to much pressure on it? I actually tweaked mine and reinjured it strip blocking the ball on defense. So stupid, but that was all it took. It was just the angle and speed. As soon as my hand slapped the ball, I was done. Couldn't play ball for almost 2 months from that one. So yeah, it seriously could've been anything, outside of ball?? I think they mishandled it from day one tho. Should've been transparent and honest from the get go, and he probably would've gotten the help he needed sooner.

Flaco Hendrixx well OCD can work in the opposite way too, it can make you superhuman because of the obsessions. It all depends on how your OCD manifests. Many billionaires have OCD too, but it affects everyone differently and can actually be a “advantage” depending on how severe it is or what types of obsessions you have. I have OCD and I 100% believe that’s why I had a 4.0 GPA in college, but I also know OCD is the reason I miss out on a lot of things because of irrational fears. You have to look at it on a case-to-case basis.

A pinched nerve or other nerve injury can severely diminish your ability to use whatever it's connected to. For example one of Bas Rutten's arms is way smaller than the other due to a neck injury that caused nerve damage. A lot of times the athlete can't really tell it's happened because the muscle loss is usually a slow and gradual process. Plus the nerve damage often causes numbness that obviously limits their ability to even feel something is really wrong. They usually just feel slightly off and begin changing their mechanics to try and fix the problem which usually just makes the situation worse. I believe that's the problem Fultz is battling.

Fultz trained at my school with trainers from the sixers during the summer. When I was there, he repeatedly talked about how broke his shot was and he was trying to change his shot to fix it. (Almost every shot was a brick) The shoulder injury you mentioned makes sense from what I’ve seen because he spent 2 hours of practice time trying to do a 1 handed, backwards half court shot. Thinking he does that quite often, it wouldn’t surprise me if the over working of that shoulder caused the injury.
