This sailboat sank offshore Jacksonville Florida and landed on the seafloor 90 feet below. The vessel was intentionally scuttled to create a new scuba diving destination. This video shows the the process, from a point of view perspective, of how the ship was sunk.
This was one of two boats purposefully sunk in a recent effort to create new ocean habitat off the coast of northeast Florida. The two ships were recycled in a unique fashion that will benefit the ocean environment and provide a recreational destination for fishermen and scuba divers.
